City Economy

Those who go on vacation to Kirovsk should keep in mind that this is primarily an industrial city, which will be interesting to visit from a cognitive point of view, and it may not be suitable for a good rest. Here is a plant for the production of building materials based on silicates, a peat processing plant. There is a large poultry farm. In the vicinity, barley, rye, oats, potatoes, and feed are grown. They are engaged in cattle breeding.

Deposits of limestone, sand, peat are being developed. A new industrial zone is being created in the eastern part of the city.

City features

Built mostly in the Soviet period, the city of Kirovsk largely preserved the features of that time. Views of the city may resemble shots from Soviet films. Many buildings, including small ones, have survived from those times. These are also peculiar sights of Kirovsk (Len. Region). But there are modern high-rise buildings. As it should be for the cities of the Soviet type, there are a lot of trees around. This, of course, makes Kirovsk more comfortable and pleasant to visit. True, in the high-rise area, everything is not so pretty. There are also modern cottages for wealthy citizens.
