Little Bosnia and Herzegovina is not entirely deservedly lost among its more famous Balkan neighbors - Croatia and Montenegro. And although this country is not so popular, in terms of tourism it is very interesting, and in some things even surpasses neighboring countries. What sights of Bosnia and Herzegovina are worth seeing, and what can this state offer?

Tourist Bosnia

Recently, Bosnia and Herzegovina has been increasing its status in the tourist world, becoming more and more attractive for travelers. For a long time, tourism in this country was hindered by the echoes of the Bosnian war, as many were afraid of a possibly unresolved conflict between the Muslim and Christian worlds. In addition, the tourism industry itself was poorly developed by the government. For CIS tourists, this was primarily reflected in inconvenient transport links and visa regulations.

Now all conflicts are forgotten and the two cultures coexist peacefully within one state. A visa for representatives of the CIS countries is now not required up to 30 days, and flights are organized much more conveniently. Sights of Bosnia and Herzegovina wants to see more and more people. The country is confidently developing its tourism potential.

Bosnia-Herzegovina: Neum

There are no attractions as such in this city. But there is a good infrastructure. Prices here are Bosnian and Croatian species, so why pay more? This is the only city in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which, thanks to a historical combination of circumstances, has access to the sea.

A warm subtropical climate, sea, excellent landscapes - these are the main advantages of Neum. This is a resort town, here you can enjoy plenty of pebble beaches, hospitality of local residents and quite good service.

There are many tourists in transit to Croatia, and since prices are much lower, everyone prefers to make purchases in Neum. This constitutes a significant part of the city’s profit. Many Croats living near the border also come to shop here.

City Sarajevo

The main and one of the most interesting cities that Bosnia and Herzegovina boasts. Sights of Sarajevo need to be looked everywhere, especially in old areas. Here you can feel an amazing mixture of Islam, Catholicism and Orthodoxy. The Old Town is full of small winding streets, cozy squares where souvenirs, unique metal products and sweets are sold to be oriental. From the main streets it is necessary to turn into inconspicuous alleys, there will certainly be an area hidden from the eyes with a separate microcosm.

Feel like a visitor to the 16th-century shopping area in Bezhistan. This is the historical district of the city, where previously there was one of the largest living houses, next to which there were shopping arcades. Above the city there is Biela Tabia fortress, built in the same century as the guest house.

One of the most unexpected sights is the pyramids. They were discovered recently, not far from Sarajevo. According to archaeologists, the pyramids may be older than the Egyptian, and now there are excavations. The excursion can be carried out by the same archaeologists or any local resident.

Old bridge in Mostar

The city of Mostar is located on the banks of the Neretva River of amazing beauty. The main attraction of the town stretches across the river - the Old Bridge, which connects the Muslim part of the city with the Croatian one. The Old Bridge, like many of Bosnia and Herzegovina's sights, dates back to the times of the Ottoman Empire. It was destroyed in 1993, but later renewed and attributed to the heritage of UNESCO. Now the construction is a symbol of the revival of peace and tranquility in the country and is of great value to local residents. A bridge jumping festival is held here annually.

The city has several beautiful and rather old mosques that you must see. From the river bank there are excellent views of the old architecture. Many buildings were damaged during the war, so far in the walls of some buildings you can see bullets.
