The relatively young and rather large cemetery Shcherbinka is located in the south of Moscow, in the Podolsky district. The total territory occupied by him totals 90 hectares.

The cemetery consists of two parts - the Central, the older (the beginning of the burials - 1982), and the new - the southern part, commissioned in 1997. The territory occupied by the plots is divided as follows: the central part occupies 60 hectares, and the southern part, where plots for Buddhist (1.2 hectares) plots and Kurdish burials are allocated, are 30 hectares. In 2014, it is planned to renovate and expand the territory of 4 Moscow places of eternal rest, including the Shcherbinka cemetery. It will grow, including through the formation of new sites - Jewish and Muslim. Despite the upcoming improvements, the cemetery today has an excellent material and technical base.
The structure of Shcherbinka
From the first moment of the cemetery’s work, all the necessary records are kept. Asphalted alleys, which make it possible to approach each grave, visually divide the cemetery. Shcherbinka has an excellent drainage system that eliminates flooding. Each part, both Central and South, is surrounded by a metal fence along the border. There is a modern churchyard in the forest. In addition, there are 56 water columns, 175 cranes, 43 rubbish bins and, importantly, given the remoteness of the location, equipment rental points that make it possible to care for the graves throughout the territory. Now the Shcherbinka cemetery, or rather the Buddhist section of the southern part, has a columbarium designed for 1, 500 urns. There is a morgue and crematorium. Of course, on the territory of this place of eternal rest there is the temple chapel of the Life-Giving or Old Testament Trinity belonging to the Zakharya Church. All the necessary ceremonies are held here. In the very near future, a mosque should appear in the village of Shcherbinka, after which the cemetery is named, which will make the Muslim burial rite complete.

Since the cemetery is run by the State Unitary Enterprise “Ritual”, any information of interest can be obtained within a few minutes, being anywhere in the capital, because this company has good advertising, telephones are regularly reported by the city media. On the Warsaw highway, 7.5 kilometers from the Moscow Ring Road, there is a sign "Scherbinka Cemetery" with a left turn. There is a train stop - "Scherbinka". A semi-express bus number 819 approaches the cemetery directly. On funeral days, the number of targeted buses increases. The nearest metro station is Annino. It is planned to launch a bus on the route “Shcherbinka - st. metro Dobryninskaya."
