When the metro is built in Krasnoyarsk, newspapers have been writing for more than a decade. The construction began in 1995, but to this day the metro is not only not put into operation, but it is not known when this will happen or whether it will happen in principle. Initially, the authorities had really grandiose plans for the transport future of the city, but the projects diverged from reality, and very seriously. Consider the milestones of this story.

Bright start

The construction of the metro in Krasnoyarsk started back in 1995. The first bucket was removed in October this year. Work processes began in the place previously dedicated to the railroad - there was a park in their honor. According to official assurances of the authorities, in only five years, the first five stations will be opened to the services of city residents. The construction began beautifully and catchy - they sang slogans and songs, for the performance of the authorities they whipped up a platform with which to read out loud promises. The atmosphere, whatever you say, is in the best spirit of Soviet workdays. The same meter celebrated the first meter of the underground transport network - when it was built, a city-wide celebration was organized.

Today, city residents, who are asked whether there is a metro in Krasnoyarsk, only bitterly grin - many frankly do not believe that the construction will ever be completed. Others even believe that the city does not need a subway at all. In 2001, they held a series of festivities and rallies, processions and performances dedicated to the approach of new opportunities for city residents. Then they said that the first five stations will be opened in 2005. The first was to be "High-rise", the final - "Prospect Mira".

Many or few?

Initially, it was assumed that the first stage of the tunnel complex would require financial investments of $ 400 million. Such calculations were made in the 91st. At the prices of that period, this was comparable to the cost of an atomic cruiser. The construction of a large plant was estimated at approximately the same amount. Of course, talk of such impressive money generated a lot of controversy and disagreement. Some believed that the city does not need a metro at all, others were convinced that it was unreasonable to spend so much money on the transport system, so you need to save some money. However, it so happened that there was no project financing from the budget side in the early years, so the disputes gradually subsided by themselves. Indeed, what can I say if the project is only on paper and it seems to have no prospects?

Over time, the situation changed, it was decided to allocate funds for the tunneling complex. In 2001, the backlog from the plan was estimated at three years. The engineers responsible for the construction of the transport network believed that such a delay could be leveled if large amounts were invested in the construction than planned. Some time passed, defended projects that suggested that the metro would be launched in 2006 or a year later. It was supposed at first to build only one line, and cut the number of stations to three. By the time of the defense of such a project, the preparatory work was mostly completed, so the residents of the city perked up - perhaps all is not lost.

Money and problems

Local news outlets have written more than once about what the city is waiting for if the current state of the Krasnoyarsk metro finally advances to the stage of delivery. Officials spoke of the same thing, speaking to residents who had lost faith in the possibility of the appearance of underground transport. The launch of the subway should greatly affect urban infrastructure, and this will be especially noticeable in those places where new stations will be opened. This year, the city authorities again promised that the transport complex will finally be delivered over the next five years. However, while officials cannot even decide on the choice of contractors and organize financial support for the work. They suggest that the old project must be completely changed, a new one should be made - this should save investment.

At different times, many contractors were noted at the construction site, including Krasnoyarskmetrostroy LLC. Each subsequent pause in construction was explained by a lack of money - however, this is quite predictable. The last break was made in 2010, after another three years the facility was completely mothballed, recognizing that in the near future it was not necessary to count on financing. At this point, the workers managed to build a six-meter-long tunnel with a diameter of 2700 meters. It starts from High Street, continues to Kopylov. According to average estimates, the occurrence depth is 50 m. Engineers proposed to revise the project and make one ten-meter in diameter development instead of the two stipulated by the current project. If everything works out, on the finished network two trains will run in parallel in one leg. Similar sections have already been implemented in the metropolitan area and St. Petersburg metro.

Where does it all begin

The first section of the metro should be the station "Vysotnaya". The plot allocated for it is located in the Oktyabrsky district of the village. The nearest streets are of the same name from the stations, as well as Krupskaya, Gusarov. In this part of the city there are three trolleybus routes: 4, 13, 15. There are much more buses - about two dozen. If the station is finished, it will serve the areas of Silver and North-West, as well as the Botanical Microdistrict and the inhabitants of Vetluzhanka.

The land allotted for this station is still completely free from immovable objects. The territory is large enough so that four pavilions can be put in for passengers to enter and exit. It is also planned to build a depot in which trains will be repaired and employees to relax. According to engineers, it will not be difficult to allocate territory for stops of ground transportation systems, so the station should become a convenient transfer point.

Second point

The next station after Vysotnaya in the metro in Krasnoyarsk could be Kopylova Street. It is also supposed to be erected in the October part of the city. Presumably, the metro will open its doors at the intersection of the street of the same name with the station and named after Volochaevskaya. This transport point is presented to designers as a center of attraction for residents of the Western microdistrict and Nikolaevka. Here are the routes of the above trolleybuses, as well as the fifth. At present, about a dozen bus routes stop near the planned station pavilion.

If you go through the territories that are reserved for the subway, you will notice that of the land undeveloped sections there is a square near the 76th house. Metro designers proposed to demolish private houses erected in the area of the streets of the Red Army, Proletarskaya. Already, work is underway to destroy some dilapidated buildings. This sector is reserved for the creation of multi-level interchanges for public and private transport. It will be connected with the Nikolaev bridge. Presumably, here in the future they will put a construction complex for the subway, after which they will erect the external infrastructure of the facility.

Railway station

According to the plan for the construction of the metro, the third station of the first branch should be Vokzalnaya. As follows from its name, the transport point is supposed to be built near the railway city station, which will become the main point of attraction. Also in this part of the city there are many office facilities, several residential areas. It is their residents and workers who will be served by the metro. Previously, there was a Combine Plant, on the site of which a new complex of residential buildings is now being built. At the moment, the transport needs of the population satisfy about one and a half dozen bus routes and five trolleybus services.

The plot of land reserved for the metro is the second point on the city map, where the mine structures have already been installed. Currently, the barrel is in a mothballed condition. The area used as transport parking is also free from buildings in the area of the station.

Where without revolution?

The fourth station in terms of metro construction is “Ploshchad Revolyutsii”. It will be located near the central city park. The transport complex is supposed to be designed under Marx Street. The district of the city is Central. The park is the expected main attraction for visitors. The transport point should serve guests and employees of the Scientific Library, the administration of the region, a large local cinema. The local branch of Russian Railways is also nearby. Currently, the site is served by three trolleybus routes, purely bus - about 25.

There is no special modern layout in this area: a section of the city has developed historically. At the moment, there are no immovable objects in the park and the square in honor of which the transport point is supposed to be named. From the preliminary draft it follows that the station will be located under the carriageway of Marx Street, under the square. The pavilion, through which it will be possible to get into the subway, is supposed to be put in the park. Currently, the barrel is in a mothballed condition.

Last point

The metro station in Krasnoyarsk “Revolution Square” precedes the last planned in the first stage point - “Prospect Mira”. It should also appear in the central district of the city, on the eponymous avenue near its intersection with Weinbaum Street. This choice of localization is justified by the location of a large university nearby, the Avenue shopping center, and the city administration. The transport center should serve the workers and clients of hotel complexes, business centers, and the theater. There is also SKTB Nauka and an institute specializing in retraining personnel for the education sector. Currently, the site is served by just over a dozen bus routes.

Unlike the Revolution Square in Krasnoyarsk, this part of the city is characterized by intensive, dense development. Demolition of buildings is simply impossible, because they are inherent in historical and cultural value. From the projects it follows that under the ground the complex will be located under the 59th section of the avenue, with a preliminary depth of more than 60 meters. Engineers offer to arrange an entrance in front of the shopping center or build it into the first floors of any of the buildings already in this zone. Subway builders have already had similar experience in different cities of our country.

The relevance of the route

According to modern engineers and designers, the initial plan of the Krasnoyarsk metro was made really qualitatively, since this direction is for public transport in those days and today it is characterized by increased passenger traffic. Designed three decades ago, the highway, from which today less than a three-kilometer stretch is covered, covers areas and directions in which a lot of public land transport moves. Every day, passengers forced to stand in traffic jams during rush hour are many enough to fully justify the project for the construction of a ground-based system. The drafters of the preliminary plan three decades ago correctly determined what the main city passenger hubs were, and successfully formed a system with which to connect them.

Despite the potential prospects of the Krasnoyarsk metro, its main problem is financing. It seems to some that it will never be resolved. Of course, the engineers propose to revise the project completely, to reduce the number of works, to revise the execution technologies of others. Some believe that it is first of all necessary to organize a stage from Revolution Square to the square in front of the bridge on the right coast. Already proposed several options for crossing the river. Some offer to organize a metro bridge through the Islands of Recreation. It will cost more than a tunnel laid under a pond. On the other hand, in operation such a structure is much more expensive, since it is necessary to repair, design and control all structural elements. With the tunnel, according to engineers, the hassle and cost will be less.

And the benefits?

According to analysts, if the Krasnoyarsk metro can finally be launched, it will significantly change the life of the city residents. Anyone can use high-speed transport, while moving outside the streets with traffic jams and traffic lights, possible accidents. On average, the potential annual traffic of the city metro is estimated at 55 million. Access to the metro will give residents the opportunity to use safe and reliable vehicles, improve their quality of life. It is likely that public, business life in the areas of the settlement near the stations will become much more active. Many believe that the commissioning of underground transport will positively affect the local ecology and reduce purely road accidents.

Krasnoyarsk metro is also a good business. If officials are finally able to solve the financing problems and the underground transport system starts normal full-time work, this will reduce the need for public land transport. At the moment, investments in updating the park, repair work, operation of transport and infrastructure are a huge budget item. If part of this load is shifted to the subway, economic efficiency should increase significantly.

Problems

As is known from official news reports, the Lovat mining complex, designed by Canadian engineers, is used in the work on the Krasnoyarsk metro. Its average monthly speed reaches a quarter of a kilometer.

As a possible alternative to the Krasnoyarsk metro stands metrotram. This is such a high-speed tram system, which has several advantages, but also some disadvantages. The construction of the transport system will cost less than the creation of the metro, but operation in the conditions of historical development is completely impossible. To build metrotram roads, it is necessary to demolish buildings of cultural and historical value, transfer communications. All this looks like an insurmountable problem in the current conditions - there are simply nowhere to do pits for metrotram.
