The family of the great master Ivaldi, who lived on one side of the mountain, opposed the brothers Brock and Aitri, living on the opposite slope. The dispute decided which of them are the best blacksmiths in all nine legendary worlds.
Legendary craft
Many famous artifacts made dwarfs during this extramural contest. The sons of Ivaldi made golden hair and thereby saved Loki from the wrath of Thor. They also built the ship Skidbladnir, which could travel by land and sea. They also forged Odin's spear with magical properties.
