Mr. Bungle
Mike Patton was born on January 27, 1968 in the small town of Eureka in California. In an industry where artistic recognition depends on the ability to create his own unique style, Mike Patton somehow got loyal listeners, constantly changing his career direction. As a singer, he uses screaming, improvisation, rap and other vocal techniques and techniques.
Mike's first group - Mr. Bungle, which he founded at the age of 17, while studying in high school, combined all these elements, often within the same track. In three albums, the group masterfully juggled with all sorts of musical genres: free jazz, music from cartoons and movies, death metal, Hawaiian music. You never know what to expect from their performance, even after listening to tracks repeatedly. Faith no more
In the early 90s, Patton achieved world fame by joining the original hard rock band Faith No More, whose pop metal singles became the main attribute of MTV during the era of video clips. The tormenting evolution of the group inspired a generation of metallers. Due to Patton's work with FNM, he is often placed at the origins of the rise of rap rock music in the 2000s. This sparked his feud with another progenitor of the genre, Anthony Kiedis of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Work with John Zorn
At one time, Patton often worked a lot with composer and saxophonist John Zorn, the same eclectic musician who produced the first Mr. Bungle also released a series of solo tracks by Mike using his record label "Tsadik". During their collaboration, Patton and Zorn worked with the very experimental groups Naked City and Naked City. Their collaboration was able to overcome the barrier between the avant-garde and pop audience of listeners.
Other projects
Mike could dwell on this and leave a musical legacy that would have lived for decades. However, this was only the notorious tip of the iceberg. in 1998, he formed the Fantômas experimental group, which included former bass player Mr. Bungle Trevor Dunn, Buzz Osbourne of Melvins and Dave Lombardo of Slayer. A few years later, he joined Tomahawk, a very alternative rock band founded by Dwayne Denison of The Jesus Lizard, Kevin Rutmanis of the Melvins and John Stanier of the Battles. He also, together with underground producer Dan Nakamura and other musicians, created the trip-hop project Lovage, in which the first and only album Music to Make Love to Your Old Lady By was released in 2001. In August 2017, Patton released a new album together with the Dead Cross supergroup.
Movie work
The first work in the movie for Patton was an independent painting by Pinion: Mike wrote the soundtrack for this film. In addition to composing work for a number of paintings (“Place under the Pines, ” “Adrenaline: High Voltage”) in several series and films, he acted as an actor. Mike Patton has played in films such as Clapperboard, I Am A Legend, Metalocalypse, and Bunraku.
Video games
Patton is known as a big fan of video games. In 2007, he took part in the dubbing of The Darkness, working with Kirk Acevedo, Lauren Ambrose and Dwight Schultz. He also took part in the creation of the game Left 4 Dead, voicing the majority of infected zombies. In total, Patton’s career has seven such works, and others will probably follow.

Every year, Patton’s projects are becoming more adventurous, as is his choice of musicians for collaboration: Björk, Norah Jones, Massive Attack, Rahzel and Dave Lombardo. His latest project, Mondo Cane, is an album consisting of 1950s and 1960s Italian pop songs performed with orchestra accompaniment.
