And four years later, the authorities announced a competition for the creation of an architectural project for the future park zone. And already in 1859, Central Park received its first visitors.

Washington Square Park (Washington Square Park) is another large park in New York, which in terms of popularity is not inferior even to Central Park itself. It is located in Greenwich Village, where Fifth Avenue originates. The area of interest reaches almost 40 hectares. Just two centuries ago, at the place where Washington Square Park today stands, there was a cemetery in which 20 thousand New Yorkers found their last refuge.
