Evgeni Karelov is a talented person recognized as one of the most prominent directors of the USSR. “Two Captains”, “Third Half”, “Two Comrades Served” - it is difficult to list all the wonderful paintings that he made. The master’s life was cut short due to a tragic accident, but his name will forever remain in the history of cinema. What is known about him?
Evgeny Karelov: childhood
The famous director was born in a small village located in the Moscow region, this happened in October 1931. The family in which Yevgeny Karelov was born was simple, belonged to the category of low-income. The boy’s mother worked as a teacher, teaching children literature, and his father worked as a stoker in the same school. They could hardly have imagined that his son was destined to become a star in Soviet cinema.
Evgeni Karelov fell in love with the magical world of cinema, while still a six-year-old child. It was then that he first came to the cinema, persuading his parents to take him with them. Since then, he perceived the process of making films as a kind of mystery, having carried this attitude through his whole life. Of course, in his childhood he had other hobbies, but the desire to become a director did not disappear by the time he left school.
First successes
Having received a certificate, Evgeni Karelov went to conquer the university of his dreams - the famous VGIK. The gifted young man managed to impress the selection committee, they took him. Already a student, he created his debut picture, called "Smoke in the Forest." A short film dedicated to the events of World War II became his diploma project.
“Yasha Toporkov” is the second film created by the then unknown director. The picture about the life of an ordinary guy Yasha was published in 1960, but did not bring much popularity to its creator. The same fate befell the short film “Let It Shine”, presented to the audience at about the same time.
"Insolent"
Eugene Karelov - the director who became famous after the release of the comedy "Nakhalenok", which saw the light in 1961. The plot of the tape is borrowed from the famous work of Mikhail Sholokhov, which is called "Don Cossacks." It is interesting that the author of the story even wept when he saw the film, he really liked the work of the novice director.
The action takes place in the postwar years. Having given his debt to his homeland, Thomas Korshunov returns to his native village, where he once worked as a shepherd. The villagers dream of seeing the noble and honest Thomas the chairman, but the prosperous inhabitants of the village do not like this. The war hero has a little son, Bear, who dreams of growing up as brave and strong as his father. “Insolent” is a nickname given to Mishutka by her neighbors.
