Three hundred years (from the 8th to the 11th centuries) the Vikings robbed countries that were close to the sea routes from the Baltic, North Sea to the Mediterranean, Black and Caspian, conquered England, Iceland and partly Ireland. They not only successfully fought, but also made unprecedentedly bold sea voyages.

Do you need courage to sail into the unknown, knowing only that the earth is theoretically round, and what courage is needed to finance this trip? Christopher Columbus was a Genoese, but Spain granted him the right to expedition and financing, and on October 12, 1492 he discovered America. And thousands of Spaniards surged into the New World to defeat the Inca and Aztec empires. The military campaigns of Balboa, Cortes and other conquistadors allowed to conquer almost the whole of South America. Thanks to these trips, the world became acquainted with potatoes, tomatoes and chocolate, as well as many other exotic products. In this golden age of Spain, the country owned a large part of Italy, the Netherlands, Austria and large territories in America. Only about 200 thousand Spaniards moved to America by the 17th century, knowing that many would not sail across the ocean and few would survive in the New World. And during this period, the Spaniards really were the bravest people of the world.
The conquest of Europe
All countries and empires are experiencing ups and downs. Probably, the French reached their peak in their development as a nation under Napoleon. The French controlled almost all of European territory and northern Africa. Any resident of the French-conquered countries knew the answer to the question of which people are the most courageous in Europe, and therefore in the world. The French did not make great geographical discoveries at this time, they simply fought well. Napoleon then became not only the emperor of France, but also controlled most European countries and northern Africa. The most courageous Frenchmen died in a campaign against Russia and in other wars they did not show themselves, and in the Second World War they simply surrendered to Germany.
What do Russians want
Probably, even in the most biased rating of the most daring peoples, Russians will take prizes. Several times, Russia stopped countries claiming absolute supremacy in Europe: France in the war of 1812 and Germany in World War II. In both cases, the country fought against almost all European nations. Of course, there were in history a nearly 300-year-old Mongol-Tatar yoke, which many now try to abolish, but after this period the country has always been unconquered. The Russian people managed to spread their influence from the small European part to the Caucasus, Siberia, the Far East and North America (Alaska and California). Hundreds of thousands of people settled on the vast uncharted territory of Siberia. And the greatest courage is the 75-year-old socialist experiment, when the Russians began to build a kingdom of justice on earth. An incredible experiment, costing tens of millions of victims, but showing the whole world that it is necessary to fight for their rights.
