Perhaps not everyone knows why the American singer, performing songs in the style of rock and roll, is considered one of the richest and most successful musicians of our time. The peak of her fame and best works fell on the 80s of the last century. Today she is 70 years old, but she is still as energetic as in her youth. This article talks about Stevie Knicks - the queen of his musical direction.

Destination

The future star of the scene was born in 1948 in a small town in Arizona. As usual, in childhood, little Stevie did not think what occupation fate had in store for her, and therefore she grew up as an ordinary girl. At school, she was distinguished by a cocky temper and wild character. On her sixteenth birthday, Stevie Knicks received a guitar as a gift. She herself did not realize how strong her passion for music would be.

First achievements

A very young baby parents gave her to a music school, where she began to take singing lessons. And these classes pleased her. At one time, the best music teachers, including his own grandfather, were engaged in her training. And when Stevie Knicks picked up the guitar, she realized what she wanted to devote her whole life to. She began to write songs in different directions - pop rock, country and soft rock, but did not dare to present them to the public.

At school, she met Lindsay Buckingham, a novice musician, with whom she would later have a strong relationship. He dreamed of writing and speaking, and Stevie, succumbing to his mood, did not want to stay away. Lindsay "attached" her to the little-known band Fritz, but the girl did not stay there long.

Only by chance, having got into a team called Fleetwood Mac, she included her achievements in the band’s first album. From this point on, most of the songs from all subsequent albums are owned by Stevie.

She was faithful to her team for many years. And it was thanks to Fleetwood Mac that the audience found out who Stevie Knicks was - an American singer who would soon be called the rock and roll icon.

In parallel with his passion for music, Nyx did not forget about studying. She dutifully graduated from high school and went to college. But the music turned out to be stronger.

Found each other

The group already had some success and even released several records, but with the advent of the Knicks, much (if not all) has changed. One of the first songs, Frozen Love, became the most recognizable and popular song of the year.

In 1973, the musicians released the Buckingham Nicks album, after some time Bella Donna followed, and then … The band could not be stopped further. The popularity turned out to be so frantic that all the listeners vocally argued - the merit in this was exclusively Stevie Knicks. With her unusual voice (contralto), as well as symbolic lyrics, she won the hearts of fans and became the main decoration of Fleetwood Mac.

As expected in show business, Knicks wanted a solo career, and she got it. Since 1981, the singer has been performing separately, and her popularity is gaining momentum even more. Many of her songs become hits, the performer herself has been nominated for a Grammy repeatedly. At the same time, she does not forget about her group and occasionally continues to appear on the stage in her composition.
