On his left hand, Segin placed the years of birth of his parents and sisters, an angel and a family tree. The heart in the center was the impetus for all the other tattoos. Tyler Segin was born in Brampton on January 31, 1992, in a family of hockey players. For many generations, his family played hockey. Sister Tyler, Candice and Cassidy are also great hockey players. As a child, the boy’s favorite player was Steve Aiserman, with whom Tyler’s playing style is often compared. Segin’s fearless character, his skill, speed, accuracy and dexterity on ice attracted attention and promoted him to professional youth hockey.

Career

At the age of 18, Tyler was put up for the 2010 NHL Draft with outstanding achievements that immediately paid off - he became the second draft pick of the year and signed with the Boston Bruins. The successful season with the Boston Bruins in 2011 brought the young hockey player the Stanley Cup, Spengler Cup and an invitation to the NHL All-Star Game.

During a lockout in the NHL, Segin played for the Biel team in the Swiss National Hockey League.

In the summer of 2013, an exchange of hockey players took place between the Boston Bruins and Dallas Stars clubs. On July 4, Segin joined the Stars team. Such an exchange was very successful for “Dallas”, because Segin’s proprietary speed and attack helped bring the team to the playoffs for the first time in six years.

Solving the problem of a lack of center hitters, the Starz leadership moved Tyler to the center line. So Segin quickly turned from a novice player into a superstar. Together with Jamie Benn, left-handed striker, they made up one of the most successful NHL game duets: in 223 games, Segin scored 107 goals and scored 234 points. Scoring more than 30 goals each season, Segin embodied the Boston Bruins predictions when they selected him for the NHL Draft.

At the end of the first season in the “Dallas Stars, ” Segin took 4th place in the list of NHL players in the 2013-2014 season. In addition, he was awarded the “Mike Modano Trophy” for the highest score this season.

At the 2015 Ice Hockey World Championship, playing for the Canadian national team, Tyler Segin won the gold medal.

He created his own charity organization, which gives part of the tickets to people with spinal cord injuries for every home match. The hockey player regularly meets with them, takes pictures and gives memorable autographs (this explains countless selfies on his Twitter). His organization is a partner of the Southwest Wheelchair Athletic Association
