Early biography

Elena Shevchenko was born on October 23, 1964 in the city of Kiev (Ukrainian SSR). The father of the future actress served as a pilot. When the new place of his service was designated an air town located near Novosibirsk, the family moved there.

Elena first thought about entering the theater school when she was in the regional center to visit relatives in the hospital. She simply walked past this educational institution and decided that she would soon try to become his student. Elena Shevchenko came to the entrance exams with bloodied legs, since on the way to the school she fell, climbing a steep railway embankment. The members of the examination committee were first struck by the appearance of the girl, and then by the acting talent. She was accepted, although at that time Shevchenko was still at school.

In his student years, Vladimir Mashkov, her then fellow student, entered the personal life of Elena Shevchenko. A romantic relationship began between them during the celebration of the birthday of their mutual friend. About how much the student was in love with her chosen one, says such a fact. When Vladimir was visiting his parents in Novokuznetsk, unable to stand the separation, Elena went after him. It is worth noting that even a delay in a flight to this city did not become an obstacle for her on her way to her beloved. Having rushed by car to Mashkov’s house, she considered it necessary to climb into his bedroom through a window.

Failed marriage

Shortly after this incident, the wedding of Elena and Vladimir took place. Most of those around did not believe that this couple’s family relationships would be harmonious - and so it turned out. As one of their mutual acquaintances tells, Lena and Vladimir were similar to each other in impulsivity and explosive character, which did not contribute, of course, to their mutual understanding.

Once in the position of Lena, after the next clarification of relations with her husband, she complained to him at the school. The teachers demanded an explanation from Vladimir. Mashkov’s reaction to this conversation was radical: he took the documents from the school and went to Moscow, which, as you know today, he successfully conquered subsequently. After the birth of Masha’s daughter, Elena Shevchenko also moved to the capital.

Studying at GITIS

According to the actress, she was in Moscow not because she wanted to continue acting training, but to be next to her loved one. Nevertheless, she was admitted to GITIS, where Shevchenko became a student of A. A. Goncharov. But complete reconciliation between the spouses did not happen, and soon their marriage finally broke up. At that time, Elena was greatly helped by her parents, who, in order to facilitate the life and study of a young mother, often took their granddaughter Masha to their home.
