Svetlana Misery was born in Moscow in September 1933 in a family far from the acting profession. As a child, she dreamed about the profession of an artist. Once, the parents took the girl to the drama circle, from which it all began.
After leaving school, the girl entered the Moscow Art Theater Studio on the course of M. Karev. Immediately after graduating in 1955, she was hired by the Art Theater, on the stage of which she first appeared in the play on Gorky's “Enemies” as Nadia. However, a year later, Svetlana moved to the Sovremennik Theater. She was remembered by the audience for the role of Veronica, played in the play by V. Rozov, "Eternally Alive." For several years, Svetlana was the permanent actress of the Contemporary.
Later she worked for about 20 years at the Mayakovsky Theater: she played in the performances Irkutsk Story, Children of Vanyushin, Tram Desire. From the beginning of the 90s to the present, Svetlana Nikolaevna has been serving in the Theater of Involvement. “Pig Knock” and “Provincial Girl” were put in. Misery plays diverse roles, but all of her heroines are real women, revealed through love, faith, trust and high spirituality.
Creative career
Currently, Svetlana Nikolaevna works at the "Involvement" theater and claims that she has been going to this all her life. She was interested in the search itself, the expression of herself. Working at the Moscow Art Theater, Sovremennik, Mayakovsky Theater, she gained considerable experience, revealed herself as a characteristic actress, met an impressive number of talented and interesting people. However, she really felt open, free and easy only here. “Participation” for her is the standard of the theater, where performances are staged, similar to those that were once: about heroes, their fates, about real life, real experiences in the absence of vulgarity, pretentiousness and “plasticity” - today you will hardly see this in productions of other theaters.
For the entire existence of Svetlana Misery as an actress, she has played more than 50 roles. This is not much and not small - it is as much as the actress herself wanted to play. Misery adheres to the rule: if you have something to say to the viewer, you need to talk. And being guided by other goals is unacceptable for a real artist.
Unplayed Roles
Despite her advanced age, the actress believes that there are still roles that she has not played and which lie ahead. She is very impressed by Chekhov. There was a period in the Mayakovsky Theater when Misery was supposed to play the role of Arkadina from The Seagull, but due to the unflattering actions of her colleagues and some intrigues, the role went to another actress. Since then, Svetlana Nikolaevna had no chance to play in Chekhov’s plays.
Philosophy of life
Svetlana Misery is a believer. Repeatedly, she caught herself thinking that all the villains that a person can commit in life will certainly return to him a hundredfold. Once in a distant youth, she dishonestly with her parents and still complains that all the troubles in her life are from short-sighted decisions made in her youth.
Well-known directors with whom Svetlana Nikolaevna worked, repeatedly repeated to her: "You were born under the red banner." In terms of fortitude, optimism, faith in justice and good, which must necessarily defeat evil, the actress has practically no equal. Especially in the acting environment. A woman believes that if a person has purity in his soul, and in his character tolerance towards others, self-esteem - no evil is scary, no damage will take.

For a long time, Svetlana Misery has been working with young people in the "Involvement" theater: she gives acting lessons, helps in productions. The youth inspires her to accomplish, to great things, gives strength, nourishes with energy, admires the persistence, vitality and energy of the actress. Svetlana Nikolaevna admits that young people today are spoiled, do not want to think, watch such films in mass rentals, in which there is no philosophy, semantic load. And the theater is a completely different dimension: attracting young people here, you can bring up a worthy future generation with meaningful views.
In moments of sadness, depression and despair, young colleagues help out their mentor, remind her of her youth, do not let her forget that a person should find happiness in life on his own - primarily thanks to his positive thoughts.
