The motto, the motto … These words have become fashionable. Although not understood by all, the more not all are understood correctly. What is a life credo? The motto is a familiar word, what does the motto and credo have in common? We will gradually deal with confusion.

Forgotten meaning

Initially, the creed is the Latin name of the prayer “Symbol of Faith”. After all, it begins with the word “I believe”, and this is how the word “creed” is translated. That is, the meaning of this word is initially religious, and only later it acquired the meaning of a life principle that helps a person cope with various difficulties of reality. Motto is a concept originally secular with a motivational purpose. The creed does not call anyone to anything - this is a calm knowledge of life.

About the crisis

Often people begin to look for themselves and look into the depths of their personality closer to 40 years. Then they suddenly realize that they have lived for many years with other people's values and have not formed their life credo. You can often see examples of such cases among acquaintances, especially those who grew up in the Soviet era, when personal development was suppressed, and people lived for imposed goals. And now they are trying to find themselves in pseudo-eastern cults that are designed to extract money from naive seekers of truth.

Born inside

What is a life credo? This is just a principle that works in many situations. Usually, if a person acquires true maturity in a healthy way, then she forms a life credo on her own, this is not the motto of the Internet. The creed should be considered by a person independently (even if not created), felt and adapted to the realities. Well, what can the "Never give up" creed give you if you have not confirmed it with a dozen observations in life?

Life credo … from a joke

One of my own creeds arose after I heard a joke. And then I realized that he wasn’t anecdotal about life. In this funny story, a stupid girl asked the genie for big eyes, nails and ears. And then, when he asked why she did not ask for wealth, beauty and intelligence, she asked: “What, could it be?” Since then, this expression has become my credo. I understand that we simply do not take into account many opportunities in life. And I'm trying not to be such a girl.

Time frame

Personal foundations finish forming by the age of 28. The formation of principles and credo begins at age 21 and lasts a lifetime. But it is precisely at the age of 21-28, when the formation of the creative side of the personality is taking place, and the majority of beliefs are formed. At this time, a person becomes more confident in himself and stronger as a person, learns to resist adverse influences. And in adolescence, life credos are usually still unsteady, a person voices them rarely and uncertainly. But other people's opinions mean a lot.

It takes a lot of time to feel and formulate our own beliefs, although society requires us to realize our “mission” from almost 14 years old. This is unrealistic, the human psyche needs to work on its problems for a long time and realize the reality in the form of short formulations - the credo.
