Adam Anderson is a keyboard player and guitarist who plays the famous British duo Hurts and composes music in his spare time. Prior to creating his own group, Adam worked with the Daggers group, which consisted of five people.
Biography
Adam Anderson was born on May 14, 1984, near the city of Manchester, England. The future singer lived in a country house in which there were 16 dogs and about 15 hectares of land. The boy’s father worked as a milkman for thirty years, after Adam admits that he wanted to follow in his footsteps. The artist’s grandfather was also a musician and played an instrument such as a banjo (a kind of guitar with a resonator), sometimes playing in the Royal Orchestra.
In addition to Adam, his younger brother grew up in the family. In his interviews, the musician will say to himself that he had a complex character in childhood, and at the age of fifteen he left home.
Adam Anderson was seriously interested in football and had good prospects, but after a difficult leg fracture he had to forget about his sports career. It was difficult for a teenager to realize that he would no longer be able to play his favorite sports game.
At the age of 16, the young man became interested in poetry, had not yet had a special interest in music, but, having purchased the OK Computer album from Radiohead in the store, the guy thought about the stage. At age 20, he bought a guitar and a recorder. After creating a couple of test compositions, Anderson realized that he wanted to devote his life to music.
On his 21st birthday, the novice musician received a piano as a gift, the guy mastered the instrument in just a week.
Adam Anderson created his first group together with keyboard player Scott Forster, but he devoted too little time to music, as he studied at the university and worked part-time at the hippodrome, where he filmed racing greyhound dogs.
Creation of the Daggers Group
In early 2005, Anderson met Theo Hutchcraft. Together, the guys create their joint group Bureau, but because of the chosen name, the famous English team Dexys Midnight Runners threatens to sue if Theo does not change the name.
Under compulsion in 2006, the Bureau was replaced by Daggers. The team expanded to five people and made such music as rock, synth-top, new wave, electronics and disco house.
Over the next two years, members of the group released two singles:
- After Midnight, the single held on top of hits on the XFM radio station for a long time.
- Money / Magazine, was nominated for a Popjustice £ 20 Music Prize, despite not being charted.
In September 2008, Adam Anderson, whose photo was on the posters for the performances, brought his team to London to perform in an advertising show. Six months later, the Daggers group is noticed by the famous producer Richard Stannard, who begins to engage in public relations and the organization of performances.
On January 30, 2009, a post appeared in the MySpace social network on the band’s official page, which spoke about the breakup of Daggers.
Creation of the Hurts Duo
After the collapse of the previous team, Theo and Adam create their own group, and three months later, the whole world learns about these guys. The sensational Wonderful Life video comes out, which will gain millions of views, and after the duet admits that it took only twenty pounds to shoot the video.
In the list of the most promising groups of the music company BBC's Sound, the duo of Theo and Adam was in fourth position.
To date, the group has three released studio albums (the release date is indicated in brackets):
- Happiness (September 6, 2010) - the album consists of 11 tracks, the famous Australian singer Kylie Minoung took part in the recording of one of the songs.
- Exile (March 11, 2013) - consists of 12 tracks, the title track of the album is a track of the same name. Released under the record label RCARecords.
- Surrender (2015) is the last, third studio album to date.
Personal life
To date, the musician is not in a relationship, although he is already 33 years old. The only thing the press knows is that Adam Anderson and Emily Rumbles met between 2012 and 2015. This is all the time the girl worked as a dancer in the group Hurts.
During the relationship, Adam Anderson and Emily infrequently appeared in public. According to recent reports, the couple broke up.
Adam Anderson himself does not particularly like to talk about the personal life in the media.
