The guy started with karate, then boxing and kickboxing training came into his life. Parents hoped that his son would receive a decent education, but Grüner refused to go to university after graduation. He was 18 when he went to serve in the landing troops.
First successes
Olivier Gruner left the army in 1981, returned to Paris and focused on kickboxing. The young man became a professional kickboxer in 1984, after 10 fights he was awarded the title of champion of France. Olivier did not want to stop there, continued to train intensively. In 1986, he deservedly received the world title.
When a childhood dream came true, Grüner thought about his future. He already had experience working as a model, but this career did not appeal to him. Everything was decided by chance: the young athlete was offered a role in the action movie City of Angels. In this picture, Olivier embodied the image of Jacques, martial artist. The athlete liked to act in films, he decided to succeed in this area.
90s movies
After the release of The City of Angels, the aspiring actor did not sit idle for long. Already in 1992, Olivier Gruner played a key role in the fantastic film "Nemesis". The film tells about the events of the near future, in which cybernetic organisms fight with people for supremacy over the world. The character of the actor was the secret agent Alex, on whom the outcome of this struggle directly depends. The hero can not be called an ordinary person, because in his heart a bomb is installed.
In the fantastic action movie "Automatic", Olivier embodied the image of a cyborg, which escaped from control. In the film “Savage”, he brilliantly played a powerful warrior who intends to pay off his enemies for the brutal murder of his family. The film Dynamite, released in 1997, deserves mention. Olivier Gruner in this action movie turned into a secret agent, who is forced to confront his own leadership.
Further, the actor played a small role in the series "Chinese City", starred in the films "Captive at Speed" and "Interceptors". In the fantastic film "White Pony" Olivier played the uncle of a girl who falls into a fairy tale.
