Personal life

In 1941, Herbert legitimized his relationship with Flora Parkinson, but four years later this marriage broke up, despite the appearance of Penny's daughter. In 1946, Frank Herbert met Beverly Ann Stewart. In the same year they got married, a year later - in 1947 - the couple had their first child, and in 1951 - the second.

It is worth saying that married life was not easy. For the sake of a writing career, Beverly's husband had to give up all her creative plans. Frank and his wife discuss all aspects of their stories. She was his editor. By the way, the history of these relations is described by Herbert in the book "Dreamer of Dune." After Beverly’s death, the writer married again - to Theresa Sheckelford.
