The Museum of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Moscow received its first visitors on November 4, 1981. The organization is non-profit, carries out scientific and educational activities. The exposition is located in a historic building recognized as an architectural monument of the 18th-19th centuries. Its popular name is “Suschevskaya part”. It is interesting in that until 1917 it was occupied by the police station of the Suschevskaya fire station. Today, the museum’s collection consists of more than 81, 000 exhibits; the active fund includes approximately 38, 000 items. Among them, including 515 weapons, 150 items that are material evidence in criminal cases. The exposition is located in 25 rooms. Today in the collection you can see genuine weapons, material evidence, uniforms and equipment of police officers of different eras, personal items and awards, insignia. The Museum of the Ministry of Internal Affairs tells the true story of law enforcement bodies from the moment of their foundation in our country to the present day.
