Today in the arms market a wide range of different types of small arms is presented. Judging by the numerous consumer reviews, the Glock-19 pistol is very popular among experts. Since 1988, this model has been used by the police and the army of many countries. Information about the device and the performance characteristics of the Glock-19 is presented in the article.
Acquaintance
The model is a self-loading pistol of the Austrian arms manufacturer Glok. This company has created a series of small-arms firearms that are widely used in the Austrian army. The first version of the gun was introduced by the Glock-17 model (photo below).
The pistol was created specifically for employees of the Austrian special services and army officers. The specificity of their activities involves the wearing of firearms imperceptibly to prying eyes. However, due to the large dimensions of the Glock-17, this was problematic. As a result of small design improvements, a new model entered the arms market - the Glock-19. Hollywood brought widespread fame to Austrian weapons: it was often used during the filming of films. The excellent fighting qualities of the Glock 19 are appreciated by the owners of the pistols.
Description
Unlike the early sample, the Glock-19 shutter housing is reduced. The length of the shortened barrel is 102 mm. In addition, the changes affected the pistol grip. Ammunition is carried out from stores, designed for 15 rounds. Nevertheless, in the Glock-19 model, you can still charge the stores used by the 17th and 18th models.
About production
In the manufacture of the shutter for the gun uses precision casting. Then the product undergoes special processing, as a result of which the shutter receives anti-corrosion properties and high wear resistance. For trunks and bolt casings, a special coating is provided - “tenifer”. As a result of this treatment, the metal obtains high strength at a depth of 0.05 mm. On the Rockwell scale, the strength indicator is 69 units. For the manufacture of frames used high-quality heat-resistant impact-resistant plastic.
About design
Glock-19 is installed in the same way as other models from this series. The exception is the 25th and 28th models, in which automation operates on the principle of a free shutter. In the Glock-19 model, automation uses recoil with a short barrel stroke. The shutter opens as a result of skewing the barrel in a vertical plane. During this process, a figured groove and a pistol body interact with each other. The location of the groove is the breech barrel. The shutter is locked after the rectangular breech block enters a special window for the extraction of shot cartridges. "Glock-19" is equipped with a shock-type trigger mechanism: it provides for a partial cocking and pre-cocking after each shot.
About fuses
The gun is equipped with three automatic fuses. The place for one of them was the trigger. This fuse locks it. The hook is released only after pressing it directly. The second fuse prevents unplanned firing in the event of a firing pin. The third locks the striker until the shooter releases the trigger. Manual fuses are not provided for this gun model.
About Sights
Front sight and open sight. The place for installation of the front sight was the upper part of the bolt shield, and the sight - a special groove, which weapons experts call the "dovetail". A luminous point is provided for the front sight, and a frame in the form of a luminous frame for a rectangular slot. This makes it possible to effectively use weapons even at night.

Combat "Glock-19" has the following parameters:

- the aiming range does not exceed 50 m.
About Glock-19C
On the basis of the Glock-19 main model, a modified pistol was created, which is characterized by improved characteristics. Judging by the reviews of weapons experts, during the shooting the barrel does not bounce and does not move away from the line of fire. This was made possible by the use of a special integrated compensator at the muzzle end. It is represented by several holes, the location of which became the upper muzzle of the trunk. These holes correspond to the cutouts in the bolt shield near the front sight.
