Features of Kyrgyzstan

From the west, the country borders on the majestic Tien Shan - "heavenly mountains" translated from Turkic. Across the eastern border, Kyrgyzstan’s neighbor is China.

The true pearl of Kyrgyzstan is the deep-sea Issyk-Kul, or “hot lake” in Russian translation. Researchers erect the etymology of the name to the word “sacred” lake, not without reason many secrets and legends are associated with it. The state flag of Kyrgyzstan is also remarkable in its kind, about the symbolism of which we will talk.

Soviet past

It should be noted that forty years from the period when Kyrgyzstan was part of the USSR, the flag of the republic had a completely different look. From 1952 to 1992, a horizontal blue strip with a narrow white ribbon in the center crossed the red canvas. In the upper left corner were a sickle and a hammer with a five-pointed star above them. This detail was present in all the banners of the Soviet socialist republics.

The modern state flag of Kyrgyzstan: description

The waving sign of the Kyrgyz Republic is a scarlet cloth on which a golden solar disk flaunts, spreading forty magnificent rays around itself. The disk is divided into four parts by a scarlet lattice, dome-like converging in the center - a conditional image of a tunic, openings for air and light at the top of the Kyrgyz yurt. The presence of this detail recalls the nomadic past of the people living on the land of Kyrgyzstan.

The flag of Kyrgyzstan is made in the following sizes: three fifths of the length is the width of the banner. The proportion of the solar disk to the diameter of its rays is also three to five. The diameter of the tyunduk is equal to half of the radiant sun disc with the rays.

Symbols of the state symbol

After the collapse of the USSR, in March 1992, a creative team of five authors was created, who were instructed to come up with a new flag for Kyrgyzstan. The meaning of each element was to reflect the traditional spiritual values of the people. The presence of bright red color on the flag is associated with the idea of courage and dedication as a heroic national ideal. The banner of the noble hero Manas, the hero of the Kyrgyz epic, was scarlet. Gold of the Sun symbolizes abundance and pacification. It is no coincidence that it has forty rays - it is a sign of the union of forty tribes who lived here from ancient times. The image of a tyunduk has a wide meaning. This is the personification of the entire Universe as a single paternal home.
