History
The Lakreevsky forest (Cheboksary) received its name from the village of Lakreikhi, which was once located in these places, the owner of the settlement was the landowner F.A. Lakreev-Popov. A lot of time passed, and the city line reached a thinned forest, where in 1957 it was decided to equip the park area.
The park “Lakreevsky forest” (Cheboksary) was actively developed in the 70s. For the comfort of vacationers, work was carried out, the consequence of which was the central alley and the bridge over the ravine. In 1978, the park received its modern name and its status as a natural monument was determined.
In the 80s, a reconstruction was carried out on the territory of the park, due to which a zone for active types of recreation appeared, an area of quiet rest and a playground were expanded. The main facade, administrative and utility buildings have been renovated and received improved functionality. In the 90s, landscape design was made, flower beds appeared.
