Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War

The next in the list of museums in Minsk - created in memory of the terrible events of 1941-1945. In the country during the period of hostilities, approximately 3 million residents died, and this is one in three residents of the state. There were 250 death camps in the country, so it is called one of the most important museums on the planet dedicated to the Great Patriotic War.

Collection of exhibits began in 1942. Chronicles of the partisan movement, improvised weapons, and manuscripts, print media are among the first. But until 1944, all the exhibits were transferred to Moscow, where they were exhibited. In 1944, the museum opened its doors in Minsk, in one of the city’s buildings on October 22. Museum staff participated in the research of the Trostenets concentration camp and in the excavations of the Brest Fortress, after which the exposition was replenished with new exhibits. In 1966, the museum was moved to a purpose-built building in the center of the capital.

National Museum of Art

After the war, only a small part of the works was returned. And only thanks to the enthusiasts of their craft managed to collect new exhibits. In 1946, 317 exhibits were constantly exhibited.

To date, the museum has 6 collections and more than 30 thousand works of art.

Museum of Folk Architecture and Life

Such an opportunity is in the Museum of Folk Architecture and Life (opened in 1976), located at the village of Ozertso, 4 km from MKAD. Brewery Museum "Alivaria"

One of the oldest museums in the capital, which opened its doors in 1923, although its foundation date is 1898. The house is also a branch of the National Historical Museum, within the walls of which you can familiarize yourself with the history of the congress of Russian Social Democrats, as well as understand how the provincial city of Minsk lived at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries. Museum of the History of Minsk

Perhaps this is the "youngest" museum, founded in 2010. The building itself is an architectural monument. It was erected in the XIX century and the museum is located on Revolutionary Street, 10. The exposition is based on artifacts dating back to the period of the XI-XIX centuries, which were found on the territory of the city and the republic.
