early years
Brittany Sullivan, famous under the pseudonym Mackey, was born on September 9, 1988 in the city of Lake Forest, Illinois, USA. Brittany grew up in a large family, in addition to her, Michael and Gail Sullivan have a daughter Bridget and two sons - Jimmy and Mike.
At a young age, the future star Mackey Sullivan did not dream about a modeling career at all - she studied at the Ripon College of Chemistry and Biology (Wisconsin) and was engaged in freestyle wrestling, literally torn between science and sports. However, having received a sports injury, Brittany suddenly got cold in chemistry, suddenly taking up the study of medieval fashion and having tried her hand at first in design and then in modeling. The victory in the regional competition of top models Elite Model Look gave the girl the idea to try her hand at the cult model show.
Participation in the show "American Top Model"
In 2007, 19-year-old Brittany failed the qualifying round in the eighth season of America's most famous model show, but did not give up. Having missed two seasons and thoroughly prepared, the girl came to the qualifying round of the eleventh season in 2008 - luck smiled at her an honorable place in the ranks of the participants.
Sullivan decided to change her name to Mackey before the start of filming, as two more applicants turned out to be her namesakes. “Mackey” was the girl’s home nickname - her mother wanted to call her Mackenzie, but for some reason changed her mind.
The girl came to the qualifying competition with bright red hair to the shoulders, however, the stylists of the show insisted on a change in image. So there was a black short haircut, which later became Mackey's calling card.

The first year after winning the competition for Mackie Sullivan was very busy. She appeared on the covers of Seventeen, Forest & Bluff, Nylon, Cover Fall, Vogue Knitting and Chicago Scene, and also represented brands such as Oroton, Fendi and Miu Miu. At Amsterdam Fashion Week that same year, Sullivan represented Eva and Delia, Mada van Gaans, Ready to Fish and Addy van den Krommenacker at home.
In the same year, Mackey became one of the leading models of the Elite Models agency in Chicago, with which she works to this day. She periodically appears in advertisements and magazines, however, she considers the modeling career to be secondary, putting the upbringing of her children and housekeeping in the first place.
Not many people know, but from the time of participation in the “Top Model in American Style” to this day, Sullivan is a volunteer of the Make a Wish charitable foundation, which is engaged in fulfilling the wishes of terminally ill children.
Personal life
With mixed martial arts fighter Sam Alvey - her future husband - Mackey Sullivan met in 2005, while participating in the Bristol Renaissance Fair. At that time, she was 17 years old, and Sam 19. Young people had a lot in common, since at that time the girl was still engaged in wrestling. They maintained friendship for two years, starting a romantic relationship in 2007. In 2011, Sam and Mackey got engaged, and in 2013 they got married. Despite the fact that “Mackey Sullivan” is a trade brand, the model took her husband’s surname, and now her name can be found in various variations: Brittany Alvey and Mackey Alvey. In 2013, the daughter of Sam and Brittany - Regina Quincy, was born, and in 2014 - the son, who was dubbed Ayval. At the end of 2018, another spouse was born to the spouses, but his name has not been disclosed.
