Robin (zaryanka) is the most numerous bird of the blackbird family. This big-eyed, curious creature with a reddish breast has probably been found in the forests, parks and gardens where it has settled since the beginning of April. And her trills similar to bells cannot be forgotten, even after hearing only once.
Wonderful soloist in the forest polyphony
The robin bird is popularly considered a close relative of the nightingale, due to its amazing song, similar to a silver bell, to a song. With these sonorous, iridescent chants, the early morning begins, and at sunset they end a long, busy day. Therefore, they called a wonderful bird zaryanka.
But sometimes her gentle tunes are heard in transparent summer twilight, then they seem especially magical.
Robin - migratory bird
In March - April, as soon as thawing spots appear, along with spring streams, the song of zaryanki begins to ring. This means that the male flew in to find a place for nesting: in dense bushes, under the roots of trees, and sometimes in hollows. A caring head of the family protects his territory, notifying by singing that the site is busy, and if necessary, it uses force. Later, a female arrives at the conquered place and the construction of the nest begins.
How to build a nest
Robin is a bird that is not afraid of the proximity of human dwellings. Therefore, in May, its neat, similar to small wicker baskets, nests with five to six soft pink, in the brown specks of eggs can be found in the dense raspberry bushes in their own garden. The main thing is not to touch them, so as not to frighten away the diligent parents, who take turns hatching the future offspring.

In two weeks, tiny naked chicks will appear in the clutch, which after only 14 days, having not even learned how to fly, will leave the nest. Toddlers will jump in the grass, pausing and taunting in danger, about which they will be warned by their parents who are vigilantly guarding their brood and continuing to feed it.
But the robin is a bird making two clutches per season, and therefore, as soon as the breast of the grown chicks becomes bright, they will be ordered to enter the parental territory. For a male zaryanka, an orange breast is a sign of an opponent.
How to keep a robin in captivity
No wonder this amazing singer is so loved to keep in the house. On the second day after the capture, the zaryanka begins to sing. This is a pretty unpretentious bird. But the main features of her character can be considered inanimity and pugnacity. Therefore, keeping a robin in a common cage with other birds is not worth it. But alone, like most songbirds, the zaryanka will delight you all year round with its wondrous trills.
Do not forget that the robin is a bird that loves to bathe. Therefore, at least twice a day, change her water. Feed your pets insects and special mixtures of seeds and grains. Pets should be pampered with berries (best elderberry).
