The Moscow metro is the most popular public transport in the capital. Surely there will not be a single resident of the city who at least once did not descend into the subway. Of course, driving your own car is convenient, comfortable, but not always fast and appropriate. And, unfortunately, not all Muscovites have this same car.

The subway network does not cease to expand, as does Moscow itself. Of course, the residents of the city, its guests want to know which way the growth and development of the Moscow metro is going. The development plan is one of the most discussed topics recently. It is also noteworthy to those who plan to purchase real estate and count on the proximity of the metro station. That is why we decided to present to all concerned readers a plan for the development of the Moscow metro until 2020.

Planning

Prior to the approval of the final development plan, several projects were under consideration that we would like to tell our readers about. The most interesting and famous projects were the “Big Ring of the Moscow Metro” and “The Chordal Lines of the Moscow Metro”. The master plan assumed that by 2025 the total length of the Moscow subway lines would reach 650 km.

Current development

If you travel quite often on the Moscow metro, its development plan is surely an interesting and relevant topic for you. So, the prospects for the next few years are fixed in the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation. But do not forget that some adjustments and changes are possible.

So, at the beginning of last (2016), it was decided to extend the Sokolnicheskaya line from the Salaryevo station. Thus, a new 9 km stretch will appear. It will be represented by 4 new stations. The Moscow government will allocate about 40 billion rubles to extend this branch. The next section of the Sokolnicheskaya line will grow in the direction of the Kaluga highway (New Moscow). The intersection with it, according to preliminary plans, will be hidden in the tunnel.

2017 will be dedicated to the development of Lublin-Dmitrovskaya. It must be admitted that transport accessibility in this direction is a real problem for residents. But even the appearance of the new Seligerskaya station will not solve the problem to the full extent - for now, residents of new areas will have to use land transport.

Kozhukhovskaya line is another significant object indicated in the near future for the development of the Moscow metro. The development plan assumes that it will proceed from the new residential areas of Nekrasovka and Kosino to the Nizhny Novgorod station.
