Diligent student
The biography of the Minister of Finance of Ukraine Yaresko was not quite usual for a simple Ukrainian woman. She was born in 1956 in the city of Elmhurst, in the state of Illinois.
Her parents were Americans with Ukrainian roots and raised their daughter accordingly. The good financial condition of the family allowed the girl to get a good education.
In the biography of Natalia Yaresko there was the prestigious Addison Trail High School, the preparation of which allowed her to successfully study at DePaul Private University in Chicago, where the Ukrainian diligently mastered the incredibly fascinating intricacies of accounting. She conscientiously defended her diploma and received a bachelor of science degree in 1987, but this ambitious girl did not seem enough.
In those years, Margaret Thatcher was incredibly popular with the Anglo-Saxons, and Natalya Yaresko, whose biography was just beginning, decided to also make a dizzying political career.
To this end, in 1987 she entered the prestigious School of Public Administration at Harvard. Two years later, she left the walls of a reputable educational institution with a master's degree in public administration and went for the laurels of the new “iron lady”.
Return to historical homeland
Natalia’s brilliant education allowed her to get a place in the US Department of State, which performs approximately the same functions as the Department of Foreign Affairs. Given its Ukrainian roots, the leadership sent her to work in the department of the Soviet Union, she worked as an economic affairs officer. In 1991, Natalia Yaresko received her first promotion and became an adviser to the Economic Bureau of the State Department.
She worked in this position until 1992, after which she received a very unexpected and tempting offer. In 1995, Natalya Ivanovna left her job at the embassy and transferred to work at WNISEF, an investment fund dedicated to supporting small and medium-sized businesses in the CIS and founded by decision of the American Congress.
A tough, ambitious business woman in a short time took the first roles in the company and in 2001 headed WNISEF.
However, at some point, she reasonably reasoned that it was much more profitable to work for herself than for someone else, and founded her own management company Horizont. She became the first independent project in the biography of the Minister of Finance of Ukraine Yaresko.
