The state enterprise "Illichivsk Commercial Sea Port" is an international modern universal highly mechanized transport hub. IMTP specializes in transshipment of general (containers, metal rolling) and bulk (bulk, bulk, bulk) cargoes from sea vessels to land types of transport, and vice versa.

Infrastructure

IMTP - one of the largest Black Sea ports, it is located south of Odessa. The farm has an extensive berth base: the length of the berth front is 5, 253.6 m, the depth at the berths is 7.5–13.5 meters. In 2015, on the territory of the complex, in addition to the state operator SE “Illichivsk Commercial Sea Port”, there are also four private port operators:

  • Transbalkterminal.

IMTP has a developed infrastructure, energy supply system, convenient marine approaches and can accept vessels with draft up to 13 m, carrying capacity of 100, 000 and more tons.

Berths

The port has 27 berths (24 - cargo, 3 - auxiliary, two of them - specialized port fleet berths) of different years of construction. They provide year-round round-the-clock processing of goods of various nomenclatures.

  • The longest is berth No. 1 (306.45 m). Only a few (300 m) are inferior to berth No. 2.

  • The deepest are berths No. 3, 4 (13.5 m). A little less depth (13 m) at berths No. 1, 5, 6.

  • Berths No. 3-6 form the largest area of ​​open storage areas - 127, 000 m 2.

  • Between berths No. 16 and No. 17 there is the most capacious covered warehouse for grain - 190 m 3.

Most gantry cranes are used with a loading time of 25-75% - depending on the type of cargo. The age of the Condor and Sokol cranes is 20–25 years, and the Albatross type is 45–47 years. Gantz, Cheretti-Tanfani, Albrecht gantry cranes and bridge cranes exceeded their service life by more than 2 times, as a result of which most of them were decommissioned and are being prepared for decommissioning.

Container Handling Equipment

Illichivsk port has an impressive fleet of intra-port mechanization. These are auto-loaders with a loading capacity from 1 to 37 tons, port tractors with semi-trailers with a loading capacity up to 60 tons, specialized container trucks and auto-loaders for loading / unloading containers. The level of use of intra-port mechanization machines is quite high, especially those used at the container terminal.

Driving order

The entry / exit of ships from the port, sailing and towing of ships, parking at the port, at roads, at berths is regulated by the “Mandatory regulations on the IMTP” and the “Code of Rules on the IMTP”. The vessels approach the port of Illichivsk from the roundabout system according to the existing system of traffic separation to the light beam, the Illichivsk approach axial, and then along the sea access channel to the water area of ​​the Port's first basin. Now the sea approach channel that leads to the First basin has a length of 1600 m, a width of 150 m and a depth of 14.5 m.

The passage of ships from the First Basin to the Second is carried out by the Eastern Passage at Dambovy Island and the Western Passage between Dambovy Island and Berth No. 19. The speed of movement along the sea channel is limited to six knots, and five knots in the port water area. An increase in speed is allowed only to prevent emergencies, which is necessary to inform the traffic control post.

There is also a traffic control service. The post determines the order and sequence of movement of vessels in the water area, on the sea channel and on the site in the control zone. The order of the Post on the order of entry / exit of ships, anchoring, changing the place of anchorage, stopping movement is mandatory for each vessel. The actions of all services are supervised by the head of the Illichivsk port.

Water area

It consists of an external raid and internal water area, including three pools. The total area of ​​the port water area is 11, 990.85 ha, including:

  • internal - 417.69 ha;

  • external raid - 11 535 ha.

In the outer zone there is an anchorage area.

The depths in the inner water area are 10-14.5 m, and in the anchorage area on the outer roads - 17-23 m. There is a raid station of two mooring barrels for processing vessels with a total length of 280 m, a width of 80 m and a draft of 13.5 m.

Railways

The Illichivsk commercial port is served by two railway stations, Illichivsk-Port and Illichivsk-Paromnaya, with the corresponding railway fleet (reception and departure and exhibition). They are connected to the port by five railway entrances. Odessa Railways for IMTP can provide the supply of up to 1960 wagons per day:

  • Three entrances to the southern part of the port (berths No. 1-24) are served by the Illichivsk-Port station. Wagon turnover - 1620 wagons per day.

  • Two entrances to the northern part of the port (berths No. 26-27) are served by the Ilyichevsk-Paromnaya station, with a car turnover of 340 wagons per day.

Car entrances

The Illichivsk port has 6 car entrances: three in the southern part and three in the northern. However, their capacity is limited and limited by the access road infrastructure of the city of Illichivsk.
