History and Modernity
In 1936, a building was built for party officials; the architect of the project was academician I.V. Zholtovsky. - Silver of antiquity, edged weapon. The exposition is made up of archaeological finds taken during excavations in the upper reaches of the Mzymta River, which takes place in the Adler district. The stands exhibit unique exhibits dating back approximately to the 3rd century BC. The most valuable are silver bowls with a vegetable pattern. They were found with great damage, restoration work was carried out jointly with Greek colleagues. No less interesting are the round plaques that adorned the harness of the horse - the phalar.
- Graphic arts. The exposition contains graphics of such artists as Kustodiev, Nyssa, Galaktionov, Deineka, etc.
- Russian open spaces, where a collection of landscape paintings reflecting the beauty of Russian nature in all its manifestations is collected.
In addition to permanent exhibitions, the Museum of Art (Sochi) invites visitors to consider in detail the planning projects created for the Olympic Games in 2014. The exhibition is called “Megaproject. The layout of Sochi Olympic."
