The museum of one painting (Penza), the photo of which is presented in this material, is a branch of the Savitsky Penza Art Gallery. The grand opening of the cultural site took place on February 12, 1983. The idea was implemented on the initiative of the famous local historian and politician G.V. Myasnikov, who acted in collaboration with the director of the Penza art gallery V.P. Sazanov.
The building itself, in which the museum is located, has the status of a historical architectural monument of the city of Penza, which has been located here since the second half of the 19th century. The gallery of the institution regularly displays the works of famous masters in the field of fine art: Repin, Surikov, Levitan, Shishkin, and other domestic artists. The first-ever projection television of the Soviet model is also presented to the attention of visitors.

What is a museum?
The Museum of One Painting (Penza) is a unique institution. It consists of the only hall in which the chamber atmosphere reigns. Every hour, regular groups of visitors are allowed here. Sessions that last for 45 minutes involve watching slide films accompanied by the voice of an announcer or accompanied by musical accompaniment.
Here, visitors are shown cuts from the life of great artists, they provide information on the areas of painting in which individual authors worked, the era and the cultural environment of the past. After completing a kind of preface, a curtain opens on the stage, behind which one of the works of this or that artist is hiding. The story continues about the picture, which is also accompanied by explanations of the announcer and pacifying music.
How are presentations prepared for the museum?
To organize the shows, the Museum of one painting (Penza) carries out a special order for the preparation of a film about each individual artist or a specific work of fine art. Presentations are recorded at the Moscow film studio. Their dubbing is done by famous artists of domestic cinema and professional broadcasters.
The purpose of the museum
The main goal of creating a museum is as follows. As the founder of the institution G.V. Myasnikov himself noted, earlier in Penza there was an acute shortage of an institution that would present the city as the cultural center of the region. Moreover, the museum’s founder’s plans included awakening patriotism among local residents and pride in their rich cultural heritage.

The museum operates in this mode. Visitors can get acquainted with the expositions of the cultural object on Tuesday and Wednesday, as well as from Friday to Sunday. Monday and Thursday are museum days off. On weekdays, the institution receives visitors from 10 am and ends the demonstration of exhibits at 18:00. Sessions are organized every hour. To get to the museum, it is enough to submit a preliminary application for an individual or group visit to the hall.
