The "Streletsky Chambers" of the Russian military-historical society are considered a museum of a new type. From the very first day of its work, it was announced that it would be an interactive platform for amateurs and connoisseurs of national history. And, first of all, for young people.

The Streletsky Chambers Museum is also known as the Titov Chambers. Initially, they got their name by the name of their first owner - the Duma clerk, whose name was Semyon Stepanovich Titov. He was especially close to the tsar Alexei Mikhailovich Romanov.

The building itself, which today houses the museum, was built in the XVII-XVIII centuries. It is located in the very center of the Russian capital. And, by the way, is of great architectural value. The original historical appearance and today preserved the facade and interiors of the chambers.

At the beginning of the XVII century, the descendants of Titov still owned real estate. Children treated the territory prudently. They significantly increased it, acquiring a neighboring plot with a garden. The house itself also became larger.

Modern history of the building

From the end of the 18th century until the October Revolution, a number of owners owned the building. About most of them only fragmentary information has been preserved. As a result, the house became profitable, because of this, its layout and structure changed significantly.

It is known that under the owner by the name of Serikov, apartments began to be rented. The last pre-revolutionary owner of the building was the prosperous peasant Korolev. With him, a water supply system was installed in the house and a sewage system was installed.

In the 30s and 40s of the 20th century, wooden structures on the site of the future museum "Streletsky Chambers" were demolished. Instead, they built a nine-story house, which occupied most of the territory. As a result, the chambers themselves were in the courtyard, between two buildings.

Of course, the basis of the museum "Streletsky Chambers" in Moscow are archers. Here, using the most modern technologies, they tell about the history of the first regular army in Russian history, which today, unfortunately, is undeservedly forgotten.

At the disposal of employees there are many multimedia displays with which visitors can immerse themselves deeply in the historical era, for example, get acquainted with the traditional occupations of archers and their life, find out how different layers of society lived during the time of Ivan the Terrible, as well as Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich and Peter I, Emperor, at which the story of the archers ended.

In the Museum of the RVIO "Streletsky Chambers" the uniforms of archers are exhibited, their traditional dress, household items and weapons. Visitors have a unique opportunity to feel like archers. To do this, they can try to charge the musket, master the drum battle, under which the soldiers went into battle, learn to write in accordance with the old Russian canons.

Another unique feature that museum visitors can take advantage of is the so-called "augmented reality." A unique key to it is a unique bar code that is present on every ticket. With its help, it becomes possible to get to special sites and interact with the interactive areas of the museum. It can be fascinating multimedia projections, convenient touch screens, as well as other modern technologies that allow you to examine in detail all the features of life and life of Russian archers, to plunge headlong into their era.

"Heroes of the Fatherland"

The Streletsky Chambers Museum also organizes independent temporary exhibitions. For example, the exhibition "Heroes of the Fatherland. St. George's History of Russia" was very popular. It tells about the history of the creation of the order itself, as well as its gentlemen, the order and features of the award.

Among the temporary exhibitions in the museum "Streletsky Chambers" is also a popular exhibition "Soldiers of the Fatherland". It was opened to the 120th birthday of Marshal Rokossovsky. Her key exhibit is a saber, which Rokossovsky commanded the Victory Parade on Red Square in 1945.

Also at the exhibition are presented the personal belongings of the commander, his letters, unique photographs from family sources. In addition, you can find out the fate of his descendants, see with your own eyes the Polish and Soviet uniforms of the marshal, listen to the music that Rokossovsky loved, touch the records that he personally made on the home gramophone. Here there is also a pouch with which the military leader did not part even in the most fierce battles. It is worth noting that many of these exhibits are first presented to the public.

The cultural life of the museum

It is noteworthy that in addition to cultural events of an all-Russian scale, such as the "Night of the Arts", the museum constantly organizes its own original events.

These can be historical public lectures, round tables with the participation of historians and specialists working in the Russian military-historical society. Lessons of courage are held for students, meetings with interesting and unique people are organized.

The museum carefully monitors that the exposition is interesting and relevant. For this, exhibitions of contemporary photographers and painters are regularly organized.
