He went through all the steps of the career ladder and embodied the image of the Soviet politician, who seemed to be created specifically to promote the Soviet way of life. Family and childhood

On September 28, 1929, an addition happened in the family of a miner in the village of Dyleevka, Donetsk region - a son was born. So the future Prime Minister Nikolai Ivanovich Ryzhkov was born. Nothing foreshadowed such a significant biography, but fate had plans for the boy.

Nikolai’s childhood was not easy, because at that time the country was going through difficult times: industrialization, war. All this made the boy grow up early and think about acquiring a useful profession. After school, he enters the engineering college, where he receives a degree in mechanical engineering. The desire to achieve a high level in the profession makes him at the end of college enter the Ural Polytechnic Institute in the department of “equipment and technology for welding production”.

The swift career of the Soviet worker

After graduating from college, Nikolai Ryzhkov begins his career path. He linked his life with the Ural Machine-Building Plant. In 1950, he came to Uralmash, where he worked for 25 years. He begins as a shift foreman, then quickly moves up the career ladder: span chief, workshop head, chief technologist, chief engineer, general director. At 40, he was appointed head of an enterprise of national importance. Very few manage to achieve such heights, and this testifies to the outstanding abilities of Nikolai Ryzhkov.

He is distinguished by high efficiency, the ability to take responsibility on himself, managerial talent, the desire to penetrate into every little detail of the process that he controls. In the field of welding production, he was a real ace in those days; wrote two monographs, several scientific articles. During his work at Uralmashzavod Nikolay Ryzhkov was twice awarded the State Prize: for organizing and implementing a project to create the largest unit of workshops for welded engineering structures and for developing and introducing into the production of curved continuous casting plants.

State level manager

Such an active and promising leader could not stay long even as the general director of one of the largest Soviet enterprises. Nikolai Ivanovich Ryzhkov was included in the list of the country's personnel reserve, whose biography was very successful, and he did not have to stay on the list of candidates for high posts for a long time. In 1975, Nikolai Ryzhkov was appointed First Deputy Minister of Heavy and Transport Engineering. Four years later, he becomes the first deputy chairman of the USSR State Planning Commission. The statesman Nikolai Ivanovich Ryzhkov was distinguished by his integrity, large-scale thinking, and progressiveness. His performance, experience and knowledge did not go unnoticed in these high posts.

Soviet politician

In 1982, a new politician Nikolai Ryzhkov appeared in the country, whose biography makes another turn and takes him to the very top. According to the traditions of that time, Ryzhkov became a member of the Communist Party in 1956, this was a prerequisite for those wishing to pursue a career. In 1981, he became a member of the Central Committee of the CPSU, and, as was typical of Nikolai Ivanovich, begins to advance on the steps of the career ladder. Nikolai Ivanovich says that the introduction to the Central Committee came as a surprise to him, this event was the result of a good attitude towards him by Yu.V. Andropova. Immediately after the appointment of Ryzhkov, they are included in the commission for the preparation of reforms. The situation in the country was very difficult, and the team, which also included M.S. Gorbachev, had to assess the situation and formulate proposals for its correction. A little later, Nikolai Ryzhkov, whose biography describes the next ascent, becomes secretary of the CPSU Central Committee, is appointed head of the economic department. He had a very good idea of ​​how things were going in the country, he understood economic problems, he could imagine a real way out of the crisis. In 1985, he became a member of the Politburo of the CPSU Central Committee - the country's highest governing body at that time.

The coming to power of M.S. Gorbachev Ryzhkov was enthusiastic. He supported the idea of ​​the need for reform, realizing that the country was heading into the abyss, and something urgently needed to be done. In 1985, Gorbachev appointed him Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the USSR, Ryzhkov became the second person in the country. As Prime Minister Nikolai Ivanovich made a huge contribution to the elimination of the catastrophic consequences of the Chernobyl accident and the earthquake in Spitak. He is developing the economic part of the Gorbachev perestroika program. His situation was very difficult: on the one hand, the liberals accused him of lack of decisiveness in carrying out reforms, on the other - the communists of the old leaven believed that he betrayed the ideals of communism. In late December, Ryzhkov suffered a very serious heart attack, and Gorbachev sent him to retire. There is a version that Ryzhkov claimed the first position in the country, Gorbachev and removed him from power.

Politician of modern times

After his resignation, Nikolai Ryzhkov does not leave the political arena, but runs for President of the RSFSR and becomes the second person of the state after Yeltsin. In 1995, he was elected to the State Duma and held three convocations. In 2003, he became a member of the Federation Council, where he actively works in the committee on natural monopolies. He supported the policy of V.V. Putin, voted for the president’s mandate to use force in Ukraine. In 2014, he received the Order of Merit for the Fatherland from Putin’s hands. In general, Nikolai Ivanovich has many awards. He has 7 orders, several medals, has repeatedly received prizes of various levels, and was awarded the thanks of the President of Russia.
