With Pauline Jones from Dublin (Ireland) there was a story that does not surprise at all. In infancy, she was adopted by her adoptive mother. Someone threw the baby to the orphanage in a shoe box. She was lucky, there was one who wished to become her mother. But all her life, Pauline wondered who helped her to be born. And after many years of searching, at 73, she was able to reunite with her biological mother, who was already 94.
Difficult decision
More than 70 years after the adoption, Pauline decided to find out who her biological mother was. Although she did not hope for a successful result, her age is already old. All her life, she did not dare to do a DNA test and start tracking her family tree, as she was afraid to hurt her adoptive mother. But recently, Pauline's son and grandson were seriously interested in compiling family trees. And she finally made up her mind, because she could not tell them anything about their blood relatives, possible genetic diseases, etc.
Joyful meeting
And so, it happened. After a long search, Pauline met with her biological mother, who was in a nursing home in Dublin. Unfortunately, advanced age (94 years) and progressive senile dementia did not allow Kathleen to recognize her daughter right away. She did not even understand that in front of her was that little girl whom she had once been forced to abandon. But a miracle happened - after the third visit, Kathleen realized that Pauline was her daughter, and even told the nurse about it.

Some questions remained unanswered. Kathleen just does not remember why she left her daughter once in a shoe box under the door of the orphanage, who her father was and what torments of conscience she had experienced all her life for her act. But it’s important for Pauline that she simply found the one who gave birth to her, and can talk with her, hold her hand and enjoy the time that fate gave them.
