Unique book

This is the so-called Gospel of Barnabas. This is an apocrypha written by one of the disciples of Jesus Christ. It contains a large amount of information that does not completely correspond or does not completely coincide with what was written in the New Testament.

In particular, this text states that Jesus was never crucified, and indeed was not the Son of God. Barnabas claims that Christ was an ordinary person, a prophet who gave the world hope and faith. Also, the apostle Paul is called an “impostor” in it.

It is alleged that the book was seized from smugglers during an operation by Turkish police in the Mediterranean. A law enforcement report noted that criminals specialized in the illegal transportation of antiquities, engaged in unauthorized archaeological excavations, and also stored explosives.

The cost of the book is estimated at 40 million Turkish liras (about 440 million rubles).

Authenticity

As soon as the book became known, research began, necessary to confirm its authenticity.

It is known that the Gospel of Barnabas is written in gold letters in Aramaic. Among other things, it states that Jesus foretold the coming of the Prophet Muhammad.

This is also why most independent scholars consider the book a fake of the approximately 15th century, written from a Muslim point of view.

The Gospel was known for a long time about this, interest in it was renewed in 2012, when the Turkish authorities announced that they had found the original ancient text.
