And they, these days spent on a not quite familiar reservoir, may turn out to be the most successful vacation …
Lakes of Ukraine are not only fishing and a tent. Among them are many equipped according to the latest tourist fashion: the coast with comfortable bungalows, and even all-weather houses, with a guarded territory, with parking lots, with a complete "marine" set of entertainment: from jet skiing to parachuting.
And no storms of seven points to you, no sellers of corn, crossing beach people, and other unpleasant exotics.
No, the truth, and wonders - large shells, sea fish in fried, smoked and dried form, and live also not found. But, if someone is already fed up with a monotonous vacation on the seas, you can easily change it. Lakes of Ukraine are unusual and picturesque.
What to do on the lake?
The same as in any reservoir - first plunge, sunbathe, and then go to explore the surroundings. The flat rivers and lakes of Ukraine give an amazing sense of spaciousness and tranquility. The majestic Dnieper with lots of swimming, lakes and small lake becomes a whole unexplored world for the traveler.
Going to the Dnieper or along the Dnieper, it is not superfluous to take a small inflatable boat with you - to explore all the nooks and crannies of the river, there will not be enough life, but some of them have long been discovered by fishermen and hunters. You can simply go their route in the hope of prey. You will be guaranteed to get a catfish or wild duck.

Lake Dragobrat, for example, looks like the turquoise eye of a certain beauty from a meadow. So legends tell about him: it was formed as a result of the fact that one girl always carried a mirror with her and constantly admired him. Going into the woods for firewood, out of habit she took her favorite thing, but dropped it by accident. Now on this place a wonderful lake - quiet, calm, with gentle shores covered with grass.
Not far from the reservoir, on the mountain slopes, edelweisses grow, which you can only admire, as, in fact, everyone here is a protected area.
The largest of Ukrainian lakes
The largest lake in Ukraine is located in the Odessa region. The nature is generous, the borders are unknown to her, therefore, two neighboring countries shared the right to the reservoir. In addition to the territory of Ukraine, Yalpug also occupies Moldavian lands.
Is it possible to relax here and is it advisable, if to the sea - within easy reach? Many people like to combine several types of recreation, moving from the lake to the sea coast.
As for Yalpug specifically, the pond can really please lovers of crayfish for beer. There are quite a lot of this living creature in it, since the bottom of the reservoir is silty. Crayfish live in entire colonies in the lake and, if you are not afraid to get smeared and scratched, you can drag them into a big company.
The lake is shallow - the average depth is about two meters, but quite large. The area of the water mirror is 15 x 39 km.
Country? No lake
One of the 25 Danube lakes has a rather strange name - China. Why he was so called is covered in the darkness of mystery. But there is an unofficial half-joking version from fishermen: there were as many fish in the lake as there were people in China.
Now there are not so many fish, but the lake is still popular among fishing fans: it is easy to catch pike, perch, fish and rudd in its waters - they are enough for more than one generation of fishermen here.
China Lake consists of two reaches, there are no beaches as such - it is interesting to spend time here only for fishermen.
And the names are melodious, and the handsome themselves
Ivor, Svityaz, Shatsky … These are not brands and noble names - these are the so-called lakes of Ukraine.
Ivor is a small lake, amazing the imagination of magical beauty. It is located in the basin of two mountains, one of which is called Gemini (according to legend, the twin brothers fell from it, claiming one flower for their girlfriend). The lake is always warm, as it is fed by warm springs, the banks of the reservoir are overgrown with sedge, amazing landscapes open from the mountain peaks.
Svityaz is called Ukrainian Baikal. Formed through the melting of glaciers and supported by artesian springs for millennia, this lake in Volyn is considered one of the largest reservoirs in Ukraine. In size, it is second only to the famous Danube estuary lakes. Svityaz has a special property - the lake never argues with the weather: on sunny days the water surprises with its crystal transparency, in bad weather the mirror of the reservoir becomes almost black.
Svityaz and Shatsky - one group
Everyone perceives Lake Svityaz as a separate body of water, although it is part of the popular Shatsky group. All 30 are large lakes of Ukraine, located in the forest, very convenient for summer holidays. The shores of all Shatsk lakes are gentle, low, covered with fine sand, they say, it is impossible to come up with a better alternative to the sea.
Visiting the Shatsky lakes, you can set aside time and devote yourself to the study of flora and fauna. Here, after all, not only fish (although some of its specimens can plunge into a pleasant shock: there is pikeperch, common carp, and trout), but also an abundance of forest vegetation, and on the banks there are nests of ducks and swans.
