This is none other than the creator of the legendary pistol. This honorary citizen was born in May 1914 in the village of Shilovo, Ryazan province.
The famous weapon designer was the sixth child in the family of parents. His father served as a railway engineer at a local station.
In 1936, Makarov began his studies at the Tula Mechanical Institute.
Nikolai Fyodorovich was recalled from practice at the beginning of the war and, having qualified as an engineer, was sent to a factory engaged in the production of pistols. At the Makarov plant, it has grown to the lead designer. In 1944, he completed his studies at the institute, receiving a diploma with honors.
After a long and successful career, Makarov retired in 1974. For the past 14 years, he has lived in the city of Tula, where he conducted active social activities. Nikolai Fedorovich died in 1988.
