In the New Year's sermon, Pope Francis commented on his recent outburst of anger, during which he hit a woman on the arm. He apologized for this incident and said that such behavior is unacceptable for clergy.
Recall that earlier, during a procession across the square, the pope decided to greet his parishioners. He slowly walked along the fence and shook hands with everyone. Problems arose when he was about to leave. An unknown woman grabbed his hand and pulled with all her strength towards her.
Pope Francis tried to free himself from her capture, but she squeezed her wrist even more. Then the priest’s nerves could not stand it - he hit the woman several times on the hand with his palm. She did not expect such a turn of events, was taken aback and let him go.
