Many, as soon as they come to Germany, are surprised at the wide variety of goodies in supermarkets. However, after living here for a while, the Russian person begins to miss those products that cannot be found in a German store. Of course, currently in many cities in Germany there are Russian shops, but in small villages such happiness cannot be found. Speaking of what it is impossible to buy in German supermarkets, I immediately want to note that this article is based on my personal experience and place of residence. Perhaps in another city there is something that cannot be found in mine.
Condensed milk
Unfortunately, in a German store, such a treat will only stand on a shelf with Russian products. But such can be found far from everywhere. It should be noted that in Germany there are branches that produce condensed milk.
Fish for beer
Here we are talking about dried fish, which Russians are used to drinking beer. By the way, the Germans do not understand this combination. They are accustomed to drinking beer with their traditional rolls, sausages and cheese.
Cereals
I never saw pearl barley, buckwheat in a German store. By the way, I also could not find buckwheat bread. And I loved them so much.
Sea kale
But it turned out to be very strange for me. It seems that seaweed is far from a purely Russian product. But in German stores you can’t find it.
Kvass
The Germans have something similar to our kvass, but their drink is highly caramelized. But Russian vodka in Germany heaps.
Ryazhenka
The Germans have a huge assortment of different sour milk. But I can’t find something similar to our fermented baked milk. But you can buy in the German store Ayran. Moreover, German production.
