Robert Schlegel (Jewish nationality) is known for being an active member of the United Russia party; he was elected to the State Duma two convocations in a row (fifth and sixth). For two years, he held the post of representative for press relations of the Nashi movement.
Robert Schlegel: biography. Childhood and youth
His childhood fell on a difficult period in the life of the country, which was called the Soviet Union in those years. Not long ago, Brezhnev died, and the time of "stagnation" ended. Ahead was perestroika and global change in all areas. Schlegel Robert Alexandrovich was born on the seventeenth of December eighty-fourth in the territory of the Turkmen USSR. Ashgabat is Robert’s hometown, however, he only lived there for fourteen years, and then moved with his mother to the Moscow region. They received official refugee status, which in those years allowed them to quickly apply for Russian citizenship.
In elementary school, while still studying in Ashgabat, Robert demonstrated outstanding abilities. He studied at one of the best gymnasiums in the capital of the Turkmen SSR and was an excellent student, despite the fact that he grew up in an incomplete family. His parents divorced, and Robert stayed with his mother, who alone raised a young man. When in the ninety-eighth year Robert was in the suburbs, and even in refugee status, he began to have problems with his studies. Firstly, he “slipped” into triples, and secondly, he clashed with classmates. But Robert Schlegel did not give up his dream of becoming a journalist and was able to successfully bring it to life.
Education in Moscow
In his youth, Robert was engaged in basketball, he even managed to break into the composition of the basketball team of CSKA. After graduating from high school, Robert Schlegel entered the M.A. Litovchin Humanitarian Institute of Television and Radio Broadcasting. Successfully graduated from the Faculty of Journalism in 2005. Already in his senior years at the university, Robert Schlegel began working as a journalist, he was a freelance correspondent for the newspaper Moskovskaya Pravda.
Around the same time, an ambitious young man held a job as an author in the well-known magazine Hammer. The publication was quite scandalous. The editors of the magazine were often accused of publishing materials that contribute to the corruption of minors, but Robert himself later answered similar questions that he did not touch on this subject and did not write obscene materials. Schlegel then spent some time working on MTV as the lead music program.
Robert reluctantly shared the details of his student years. In an interview, he described the period of study at the university as follows: “He dyed his hair red, drank a lot, slept little and did everything to become an outstanding journalist.” Given that even before graduating, Robert managed to work in several media, he became recognizable in the Moscow party of journalists quite early.
In 2005, the young man decided to continue his studies, entered the postgraduate study at the Department of Philosophy and prepared a scientific paper on the topic: “Creativity as a Method of Protection from Socio-Psychological Manipulations”. Robert often told friends that he was interested in the topic of the influence of the media on the audience and ways to protect against this.
Journalism
After graduating from graduate school, the young man seriously began to build his career, organized his own production studio "White Light", which specialized in shooting and editing youth programs. And later, the studio began to engage in the creation of campaign materials for the movement "Our".
After a while, Robert Schlegel founded his own youth-oriented television channel called Y-TV. For two years, the media acted as the official television channel of the Seliger Forum. In addition, the young man was planning a trip to Russia and was able to carry out his plan in 2009. He went on an expedition in a car, which bore the inscription "The Great Way of Russian Civilization." Its route ran from Moscow to Vladivostok.
Schlegel continued to actively distribute his work on the Internet, and was engaged in more serious matters. Created the project “Big Government. RF ”, for which, as a result, he was awarded the state prize“ For Contribution to the Development of the RF Domain Zone ”.
Robert Schlegel: MP and politician
At the end of 2007, Schlegel participated in the elections to the State Duma from the Krasnodar Territory in the list of the United Russia party. Robert managed to set a record and become the youngest member of the Duma. He immediately established himself as an active and purposeful person. As a journalist, he wanted to take part in the formation of the state information policy and got a place in the corresponding committee. Having worked as a deputy for only six months, Schlegel initiated the signing by the president of a bill to restore a visa-free regime with the Baltic states regarding “non-citizens”. The latter are the Russian-speaking population of the three former republics of the Soviet Union, which did not receive the status of “citizen”.
State Duma deputy Schlegel lobbied in the spring of 2008 for a bill on the responsibility of media editorial groups for defamatory material. This act went down in history as Schlegel’s amendments. In response, media representatives accused the parliamentarian of trying to create a totalitarian state.
Internet Solution
All this time, Robert continued his activities in the Nashi movement and in 2010 received the post of Federal Commissioner in this organization. If we analyze the proposals and decisions of the deputy, it becomes obvious that Schlegel continued to focus on the familiar areas of activity. In 2011, Robert proposed to the Central Election Commission to create a list of blogs for candidates who could campaign on the net to increase the country's political culture.
Work in the Duma
In June 2011, State Duma deputies appointed Robert to the post of deputy head of the committee on information policy, technology and communications. A few months later, Robert again took a seat in the hall of the Duma of the sixth convocation, being re-elected on the lists of "United Russia". And he drew attention to the younger generation of the country. He oversaw several projects aimed at political education of youth. Politicians in the Russian Federation made a successful attempt to revive the Information Policy Committee, and Robert later went to work there. He has not abandoned youth projects and still oversees them.
All subsequent years, State Duma deputies received many proposals and legislative initiatives from a young politician. Among them are the concept of legal relations on the Internet and their regulation, the bill on criminal liability for the sale of alcoholic drinks and cigarettes to minors, as well as the draft on the responsibility of parents for children who drink alcohol or smoke. The latter, by the way, caused a storm of emotions both in the media and among the general population. But, unfortunately, many were not accepted.
Political scandals
After a series of terrorist acts in the Moscow metro in 2010, Schlegel introduced an amendment to the State Duma to prohibit the citation of terrorist speeches on the pages of print media. In response, journalists and lawyers made serious criticisms of the project. The latter was never adopted.
