Sergey Dmitriev: biography
A soccer player was born on March 19, 1964 in Leningrad. He grew up and started playing sports in the same place. Subsequently, Sergei was able to get into the newly founded sports school "Change". After graduating, Dmitriev began to speak for the Leningrad Dynamo. After spending the season on the team, he was invited to Zenit.
"Zenith"
The first game in the St. Petersburg club Sergey Dmitriev spent the autumn of the same season, playing against Metalist from Kharkov. The first year the striker did not appear on the field all the time. To start at the base, he began in the 1983 season. Although he played in the attack, he could not boast of a huge number of goals. He stood out on the field first of all with speed and strength, and besides, he possessed a fairly powerful blow. The first title could be won in 1984, having won the national championship with the team.
Sergei Dmitriev is a Zenit footballer who received a serious injury in the 1986 season. Damage was received during the match with Dnipro. The cause of the injury was the artificial turf of the stadium, or rather, its incorrect creation. The coating was done on top of the concrete base. As a result, a huge number of pits and crevices appeared on the field. It was in one of them that Sergei Dmitriev fell. The result was an ankle fracture and missed the World Cup.

Going to Dynamo and wandering around clubs
In 1989, Dmitriev began to have problems with the leadership of “Zenith”, and he decided to move to Moscow “Dynamo”. After playing in four matches, the player was injured and had to recover.
At that time, the capital of CSKA, led by Pavel Sadyrin, became interested in the services of a football player. Soon Sergey Dmitriev signed a contract with the army. With the club, the striker rose to the first division, and in 1990 won silver in the championship.
In 1991, the player went to the second league of Spain. The contract was signed with Sherry. Instead of the usual position in the attack, the player had to stand in the midfield. At the end of the season, the team flew into the third division and Sergey Dmitriev went back to Moscow.
The result of the 1991 season for the player was the championship and the USSR Cup in CSKA.
After the collapse of the USSR, Sergei went to Austria and played for the local Stahl team.
The next three years, Dmitriev played for teams of various championships: St. Gallen (Switzerland), Hapoel (Israel), Beckum (Germany).
Sergei returned to his homeland in 1995 and again began to play for the St. Petersburg “Zenith”.
In the 1997 season, several players in Moscow “Spartak” were injured, and the team needed urgent help. Sergey Dmitriev went to replace the injured. Nevertheless, the Moscow team unsuccessfully held the Champions League qualification games, and the defender soon returned to St. Petersburg.
The start of the 1998/99 season began with a six-month suspension. It was imposed because of the statement on the contract match of Zenit with Spartak, which was made by Sergey Dmitriev. The photo of the player was then in almost all sports publications.
Subsequently, the player spent a year in Dynamo St. Petersburg and went to Smolensk, where he played for the Crystal football club.

National team
For the USSR national team, the football player spent six matches and scored once. I was also able to play one game in the Olympic team. In 1988, he won silver together with the national team at the European Championships. It is worth saying that he did not play a single match at that tournament due to an injury.

The player began his coaching career in 2001 with the Svetogortets team. The specialist is licensed in category A. Soon, Sergey Dmitriev took up the post of mentor in Dynamo St. Petersburg. In 2004-2005 served as a mentor at Anji. Then there were the teams Spartak (NN) and Petrotrest. In 2007 he returned to Dynamo. Having worked until 2009, he was appointed the main mentor in Saturn-2.
In 2015, he fulfilled the obligations of the mentor of the Sakhalin youth team. At the beginning of 2016 he was appointed to the post of coach at the Tosno youth club.
