Biography and family
The future poet was born in the family of a seller of one of the village shops and a collective farm worker. The salaries of the parents were small, so the boy had to earn extra money as an assistant foreman, a local extras.
Shaukat Galiev wrote his first poem when he was 13 years old. It was published in the republican newspaper Soviet Literature. This was the first success of the budding poet. After graduating from school, Shaukat was for some time a member of the Union of Writers of Tatarstan, the head of the children's circle of the Union of Writers of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Shaukat Galiev has many state and international awards. He wrote a large number of poems designed for children. Poems for children are attracted by a wealth of imagination, limitless humor, an amazing consonance with the children's worldview. About 30 books were written by Shaukat Galiev, for which the poet was awarded the international Hans Christian Andersen Prize.
In 1995, Galiev was awarded the title of People's Poet of the Republic of Tatarstan for his achievements in the formation of Tatar literature.
