Many people still have not forgotten those fairy-tale films that were screened in the Soviet Union: “Vasilisa the Beautiful”, “Frost”, “The Scarlet Flower”, “The Little Humpbacked Horse”, “The Snow Maiden” and others. They were all different, but they were united by one thing - amazing soulfulness, kindness, instructiveness, an exciting plot and excellent musical accompaniment, which in general really took the viewer into the magical world of the fairy tale and made them forget about everyday life.
In addition, censorship was so severe in Soviet cinema at that time that parents could not be afraid that the child would see inappropriate things on the screen. But the main thing is that in these fabulous films the best Soviet actors were shot, who, with their talented play, created that amazing atmosphere that made me believe in a miracle.

This actor, who gained all-Russian fame after the role of Ivan in the fairy tale "Morozko", had a great future. Before the beginning of the 80s, he starred in more than 80 projects, but in 1983 his career unexpectedly collapsed. He and his wife tried to exchange a small amount of dollars for rubles, and at that moment he was detained by the police. And, as you know, at that time illegal currency transactions were criminally punishable, and the court sentenced the spouses to 3 years in prison. Staying behind bars negatively affected Izotov’s psychological and physical condition. Upon his release, he survived five strokes one after another, after which he practically lost his memory and was no longer starred.

This actor never managed to build his career. The good start that two fairy tales of Alexander Rowe gave to Katyshev, where he played the main roles, seemed to promise him a great future, but all hopes collapsed with the death of the director in 1973. The actor once again managed to light up in the fairy-tale film “Spring Tale”, where he played Lelya, and his career ended at that, as other directors were not at all attracted to his character as the fabulous Ivan the Fool.
