Many people still have not forgotten those fairy-tale films that were screened in the Soviet Union: “Vasilisa the Beautiful”, “Frost”, “The Scarlet Flower”, “The Little Humpbacked Horse”, “The Snow Maiden” and others. They were all different, but they were united by one thing - amazing soulfulness, kindness, instructiveness, an exciting plot and excellent musical accompaniment, which in general really took the viewer into the magical world of the fairy tale and made them forget about everyday life.

In addition, censorship was so severe in Soviet cinema at that time that parents could not be afraid that the child would see inappropriate things on the screen. But the main thing is that in these fabulous films the best Soviet actors were shot, who, with their talented play, created that amazing atmosphere that made me believe in a miracle.

But not many people know how their fate turned out, and what was their creative path.

This article will talk about some of these great actors.

Tatyana Klyueva (in the main photo)

The fame of this actress was brought by the role of Barbara Beauty in the Row fairy tale of the same name. But, despite the fact that her career began to develop successfully, Tatyana, having starred in 9 more projects, said goodbye to cinema, as she got married and preferred quiet family happiness to her career.

This actor was considered the main Santa Claus of the country of Soviets. In this image, he not only appeared in fairy-tale films, including “Frost”, which was filmed by the great “storyteller” Row, but was also present at all the Christmas trees that were arranged in the Kremlin.

Despite the fact that Alexander grew up in a simple large family, he was able to fulfill his dream and become an actor. True, he had to change many professions before graduating from a drama studio and getting a job at the Kharkov Drama Theater, where he served in the 30s. From the beginning of the 40s, he worked at various film studios in the country, until in 1946 he chose the Moscow Theater Studio, where he served until the end of his life.

Natalia was a professional ballerina and did not dream of acting in films. But once her performance was seen by the country's main “storyteller”, director Alexander Rowe, and, unable to resist the charm of a 15-year-old girl, shot her in two of his films. But, despite the success that the newly made actress had, she still returned to the stage of the Bolshoi Theater, where she was a leading ballerina until 1990, and then said goodbye to the ballet and became an actress at the Nikitsky Gate Theater.

This ballerina also got into the cinema with the filing of Rowe and began to act actively after she played a major role in the fairy tale about the hero Finist, who was nicknamed the Clear Falcon. Before the start of the new millennium, the actress actively starred, appearing in 46 projects, among which there were other fairy tales, and in parallel with this she also excelled in the modeling business as Vneshtorg fashion model. Then she disappeared from the screen, and, starting in the 2000s, she became interested in aerobics, so much so that she opened her own fitness center.

Eduard Izotov

This actor, who gained all-Russian fame after the role of Ivan in the fairy tale "Morozko", had a great future. Before the beginning of the 80s, he starred in more than 80 projects, but in 1983 his career unexpectedly collapsed. He and his wife tried to exchange a small amount of dollars for rubles, and at that moment he was detained by the police. And, as you know, at that time illegal currency transactions were criminally punishable, and the court sentenced the spouses to 3 years in prison. Staying behind bars negatively affected Izotov’s psychological and physical condition. Upon his release, he survived five strokes one after another, after which he practically lost his memory and was no longer starred.

Pavel Pavlenko

This actor starred in almost all the tales of Rowe, and although he played minor characters, he was still remembered by the audience. Until 1976, he starred in 30 films, and then disappeared from the screen, which is not surprising, because he was already 74 years old. Since then, the actor lived in solitude and died quietly in the 90th year of his life.

Oddly enough, the fame was brought to this actress mainly by negative characters, in which she masterfully reincarnated in many Soviet fairy tale films. Her heroines - insidious and cunning, were so believable and expressive that in the end this role was assigned to the actress. Her creative piggy bank has collected about 60 roles, and although there are no main roles among them, this does not detract from her talent. The last years of the actress's life were overshadowed by a serious illness, as a result of which she died before she lived a year before her 60th birthday.

Alexey Katyshev

This actor never managed to build his career. The good start that two fairy tales of Alexander Rowe gave to Katyshev, where he played the main roles, seemed to promise him a great future, but all hopes collapsed with the death of the director in 1973. The actor once again managed to light up in the fairy-tale film “Spring Tale”, where he played Lelya, and his career ended at that, as other directors were not at all attracted to his character as the fabulous Ivan the Fool.

Sergey Stolyarov

This actor was perceived as the ideal of a Soviet young citizen, so it is not surprising that his image was taken as the basis of the famous sculpture "Worker and Collective Farm Girl". As for the cinema, Stolyarov was loved by both the directors and the audience, who watched his films in droves. But, despite the fact that the actor starred in projects of a different genre, it was precisely fairy-tale films where he played the main characters that brought him fame. Ruslan, Ivanushka, Nikita Kozhemyak, Alyosha Popovich and Sadko - these images made him a favorite of the audience and brought many awards.
