Glass houses are not new at all. The availability and low cost of such building material has done its job: unconventional structures exist around the world in countless numbers. Moreover, these are not only simple houses for summer cottages, but also entire palaces with a balcony and an outbuilding, and even temples and other public buildings.

But our compatriot, the Russian Olga Koroleva from the city of Novoshakhtinsk, who built her own house in a record-breaking short time in 14 days, was especially distinguished in this matter. In total, the construction took about five thousand bottles. How did she do it?

Way to dream

A woman wanted for a long time to have her cottage for rest outside the city, but the high cost of materials and services of workers did not allow her to be realized. Then she came up with the idea to create a dream house from ordinary glass bottles, especially since the successful experience of such construction has long been known: there are similar buildings, they are successfully operated and perfectly perform their functions.

It took eight months to collect and transfer the building material to the site. Olga found many glass collection assistants among friends, acquaintances, and all who care.

How was the construction

With the onset of summer, Olga Koroleva set to work. It was not without helpers: familiar builders made the calculation of the proportions of the cement mortar. Since glass does not absorb moisture, a maximum of four rows of bottles can be packed per day. Helpful neighbors helped to mount the roof. Thus, in just two weeks, the dream house grew on the site.

When the walls and the roof were ready, the hostess proceeded to the interior decoration. While there was no electricity in the building, it saved that in the afternoon the sun's rays penetrated into the room through multi-colored glass. At night, street lights and headlights of cars rushing past became a source of illumination. But most importantly, there were walls and a roof over your head, and now there is where to hide from the scorching sun, wind and rains.
