early years
Valentina Evgenievna Markova was born on May 5, 1942 in a family of ordinary workers who lived in Moscow. Her father died at the front, and therefore, left alone with her mother, Valentina was forced to start working early. She dreamed of a career as an artist, and therefore from the age of 16 she studied at the evening department of the School-Studio of the Stanislavsky Drama Theater, combining study with day work in the factory with her mother.
Actor career
The stage debut of actress Valentina Markova took place in the first year of study at the stage of the Stanislavsky Theater. She played the role of Alla in the production of "Open Window" based on the play by Emil Braginsky. The following year, a debut on the screen took place - in the film "Ballad of a Soldier" Valentina Evgenievna played the role of Zoe. Despite other works, in the future the actress was recognized by this very, very first role in the movie.
In 1960 and 1961, Markova starred in two more films, again performing episodic, but memorable roles in the films "Her Head on Her Shoulders" and "Dima Gorin's Career". In 1961, she also re-entered the scene, playing the role of Tanya Morozova in the play "Rifle No. 492116" and Marina Zotova in "The Life and Crime of Anton Shelestov." This year, her studies at the Stanislavsky Theater studio ended, and, realizing that she still lacked mastery, Valentina Markova entered the acting faculty of GITIS.
But both during her studies and after graduation, she remained an actress of the Konstantin Stanislavsky Theater. On his stage, she performed more than twenty different roles, but almost all of them were secondary or episodic.
