She announced a competition for the most original design of the future building. Unusual projects of architects from around the world were considered, but as a result the “dancing” skyscraper won.
The total budget of the rotating building, protected by moving screens from direct sunlight, ranged from 200 to 275 million dollars. Surprisingly, all communication systems are exactly vertical, so the unusual shape of the building does not affect their work.
Construction problems
A year later, the foundation was flooded with bursting water from the bay, on the coast of which construction was underway. In just four minutes, a huge pit filled with water, and all workers were urgently evacuated. Then the financial crisis followed, and only in July 2008 the construction of the skyscraper continued.
Renaming a Skyscraper
In June 2013, the Cayan Tower was opened, equipped with underground floors, which are multi-level parking for cars. A colorful show was accompanied by a salute and an entertainment program.
Then the owner of the all-breaking building announced the renaming of the Infinity Tower into the Cayan Tower. He argued his decision by the fact that the new name is unique and is not found anywhere else.
