This wonderful practice has recently become viral. However, this idea is not new at all. It originates in the organization Chase The Chill, which was founded in Pennsylvania in 2008. What is this tradition?
The beginning of tradition
Two years later, they first began to drape scarves on trees. One night, in the fall of 2010, scarves appeared on trees, bridge walkways, signboards and other public places. A label was hung on each of them, inviting anyone to claim ownership of the scarf.
The organization’s website says that their goal was to help other people and at the same time enjoy the love of handmade clothing. This is a great and worthy reason to knit more if you like crocheting. Even if you are not so good at it, you now have the motivation to learn and become better.
