Makarov pistol is a simple and reliable weapon. It eliminated almost all the problems that occurred when firing at the Walter PP pistol, taken as a basis for designing a structure, for example, such as sticking a cartridge into the bevel of a chamber. However, delays in firing from PMs occur and are mainly associated with improper operation and poor gun care.
Few rules
Everyone who works with the PM pistol should know the types of delays during shooting and how to eliminate them, safety during shooting depends on this, and, therefore, life. For reasons of occurrence, they are conditionally divided into removable and not removable directly during firing.
This error is often common among inexperienced employees: an unexpected delay is confusing and a person turns a gun to look into the barrel. This happens instinctively, especially if the situation is urgent, and the person does not remove his finger from the trigger. After the second press, a shot may occur, and it will lead to a deplorable result.
Therefore, the first step to eliminating the delay is to remove the finger from the trigger without removing the interference, and only then determine the type of delay. If it is disposable, take the necessary measures and continue shooting, and if it is impossible to eliminate it when shooting, defuse the gun and holster it, and then send it for repair.
Misfire
The most common type of delays when shooting is a misfire, even people unfamiliar with weapons know about it. The main sign of misfire, in addition to the fact that the shot did not occur, is the shutter stop in the rear position at the shutter lag. The cause of the misfire may be a malfunction of the cartridge, in which case the delay is solved by a simple recharge. Another reason is a thickening of the lubricant or a dirty channel under the hammer. In this case, when shooting, the problem cannot be solved, it is necessary to clean the weapons well, remove carbon deposits, varnish and thickened grease.
A misfire can also be caused by a loose fuse lock. During the shot, the fuse turns on, so a misfire occurs. If the fault recurs, a fuse or retainer must be replaced.
Cartridge shortage
The cartridge may not be covered by the shutter. The latter, which has not reached the extreme forward position, impedes the trigger. This malfunction occurs most often due to the fact that the gun needs to be cleaned. Ways to eliminate the delay in firing PM - sending the shutter. Then you need to cock the trigger manually or to fire a self-cocking.
Other malfunctions
There are other reasons for the delay in firing from PM. These include the failure to deliver the cartridge from the store or its non-promotion to the chamber. Typically, this malfunction occurs due to contamination of weapons or malfunction of the store. If it is not solved with a simple recharge or occurs periodically, you need to clean the gun or replace the magazine.
There is a possibility of sticking or infringement of the sleeve. One of the reasons may be the contamination of the moving parts in the mechanism or a malfunction of the spring, reflector or the ejector itself.
This malfunction can occur if the window intended for the departure of the sleeve was blocked by something, for example, when firing from cover. Elimination, although it takes some time, but the situation does not apply to the fatal when shooting. First you need to remove the magazine, put the bolt in the rear position, and after removing the sleeve, return the magazine to its place. You can continue shooting.
Automatic shooting
Delays during firing from PM can occur and of a different nature. When you press the trigger, several shots in a row can occur, as when firing automatic weapons. This also happens due to contamination and breakdown of some parts of the pistol mechanism: a worn battle trigger, a whisper nose, a weakened or broken spring whisper, and some other malfunctions.
In this case, you need to remove your finger from the trigger and turn on the fuse. In non-combat conditions, clean the gun, inspect the mechanism and replace damaged and worn parts.
