Alexey Ledyaev: biography and ministry

The hero of the article is the founder and pastor of the New Generation Church, Alexei Ledyaev, a talented poet and composer. A caring father and husband, a good leader, author of books and a person whose range of interests and communication goes beyond his professional career. Nevertheless, for the good three decades, heated discussions have not ceased around his activities.

Alexei Ledyaev was born on March 10, 1958 in Alma-Ata, Kazakhstan, into a Baptist family. The fifth child of seven children. In the 1920s, Ledyaev’s grandfather, an Orthodox believer, met the Stundists and accepted their teachings. He preached the Gospel and stood at the head of the Stundist movement in the Penza province. The only and long-awaited son was named in honor of his grandfather - Alexei.

When the boy was 13 years old, his mother died of rheumatism. After 2 years, the father married a woman who took care of their large family. The children accepted her and began to call her mother.

Alexey graduated from school with a gold medal. Then he continued his education as a chemist at Kazakh University. According to Alexei Ledyaev, his biography made a sharp turn after arriving in Latvia.

Personal life

They met their future wife in the church. Olga also grew up in a large Baptist family and, like Alex, was the fifth child. The friendship of young people, which lasted 5 years, gradually grew into a confidence in connecting their destinies forever. In 1981, they got married.

Young decided to go to distant Latvia. In Riga, Alex got a job on a construction site, Olga - at a factory. A year later, in 1982, a daughter Maria was born in a young family, then Tatyana. In 1988 - daughter Anastasia. From the first days of married life, his wife Olga understood and supported him, as Alexei Ledyaev tells (family photo above).

Alexey defends the principles of family values and remains faithful to Christian morality. In 2005, the magazine IN VICTORY noted Ledyaev in the nomination Reformer of the Year. In 2007, at the IV World Family Congress, he was awarded the Medal of Honor "For the Active Protection of a Traditional Family."

The Ledyaevs have a happy and happy family. Olga, just like her husband, serves as a pastor. Daughters followed in the footsteps of their parents. For Alexei, family values come first in his personal life.

Alexey Ledyaev and The New Generation

Alex attended a Baptist church and survived "spiritual baptism." In the late 80s, he and his associates moved to Pentecostals, where Ledyaev served as a musician and preacher. After the church pastor emigrated to America, almost unanimously, Alexei was elected to the post of church leader. The Lutheran church, where they held services, closed its doors to Pentecostals. But they continued their services on the steps of the temple. Later, Norwegian friends gave them a tent, in which they held meetings.

But the day came when their church split into two camps. The bishopric of the brotherhood removed Ledyaev from pastoral service. In 1989, Alexei Ledyaev and his supporters created a new church. In 1994, it numbered 1, 500 people. Today, the “New Generation" is a branched organization with more than 200 churches in 15 countries.

The church has a television studio, a publishing department, a recording studio, and a Bible school has been created. The building is constantly functioning hairdresser, cafe and bookstore. The church holds Christian conferences where world-famous preachers speak. Of great interest are the musical projects of Ledyaev.

Musicals and concert programs

Alexey Ledyaev - poet and composer, is the author of many poetic works. One of the first projects created by him was the musical “Copper Serpent”. It was shown in Jurmala in 1994 at the Wind of Change conference. In 1995, a musical production of Noah's Ark was presented at the summer conference. In 1996 - "Bartimaeus" and "Torn Veil". From 1998 to 2002, the musicals Exodus, Kifa, and The Thorns Bush were created.

Musical programs were released under the leadership of Alexey: “Broken Tablets”, “I Depart into the Depths of God”, “Incense of Love”, “Silhouettes”, “I believe I can fly” and “Let your kingdom come”.

In 2009, the first project was created for the professional theater scene - “Game is Over”. People far from Christianity took part in it, which entailed a wave of criticism.

Alexey Ledyaev is the author, director and producer of many Christian programs that appear in various countries of the world. The audience of the "New Generation" totals more than 200 million people.
