For a peculiar style of warfare and for the frequent use of asphyxiation, fans gave him the corresponding nickname - Boa.

Physical data

Aleksey Oleinik has excellent physical data, perfectly matching the sport in which he showed himself. With an increase of 188 centimeters, a fighter weighs one hundred and five kilograms. This structure of the body allows him to enter the battle with equal rivals, without fear of defeat: he is strong and firmly on his feet. With a arms span of almost two meters (183 centimeters), he easily uses his favorite trick to strangle the enemy, and this trick brought him the most victories.

Lesha was born in the beautiful Ukrainian city of Kharkov on June 25, 1977. Being Gemini according to the horoscope, it fully corresponded to the main characteristics of this sign. Charming and single-minded, from childhood he began to get involved in martial arts. Parents did not interfere with his passion, and this eventually led him to professional sports. The athlete has two citizenships: Ukrainian and Russian. In the world, his name is most often associated with Russia.

Alexey held his first professional fight in 1996 and since then has only replenished the list of his achievements with new awards. At the moment, he, along with other sports professionals, opened the Alexey Oleinik MMA School, in which you can learn different martial arts under the guidance of famous fighters:

Combat technique

Alexey Oleinik is a very capable and comprehensively developed fighter. He knows so many different tricks that sometimes it more likely interferes with him in the conduct of the battle than helps. A huge number of tactics that Alexey can adhere to are confusing, and he can miss an important critical moment. That is how he earned his defeats. And there were nine. Four of them were knockouts. Experts consider Alexey’s weakness to be the so-called shocklessness. Of the total number of battles won, and he has fifty, he won only four fights by knockout.

Achievements

Alexey Oleinik achieved a lot in sports. At the moment, he is:

  • winner of the Russian Cup in pankration;

  • Champion of the Russian Federation version of PRMMAF;

  • world champion versions of FFF, ProFC and IAFC;

  • finalist of the world championship version of the IAFC.

Alexey for his professional life managed to participate in such tournaments as:

  • "Em One Global" (M-1 Global).

  • KSW.

  • Budogfayt (BodogFight).

  • "Yama Pit Fighting" (YAMMA Pit Fighting).

  • Bileyter Fighting Championships (Bellator Fighting Championships).

  • UFS (UFS).

He also participated in many grappling tournaments and enjoyed participating in combat sambo enthusiasts. It was in amateur sports that he became the two-time champion of the Russian Federation, the champion of Europe and Asia, as well as the world champion. Four years ago, participating in competitions that took place in the capital of Russia, Moscow, Alexei became the winner among participants weighing more than 90 kilograms.

Professional Development

Analyzing all the fights of Oleinik, we can conclude that basically his opponents were his compatriots. Alex began with sparring with little-known fighters. He lost his second fight, by the way, due to the reception of strangulation. This technique later became his favorite. Then there was a series of victories, among which was the victory over the American fighter Marcel Alfay. After this victory, Alexei was invited to participate in the tournament "Em One". But after several fights, he lost to a Brazilian named Flavio Mour and again returned to the battles with his compatriots and fighters from the countries of the former CIS.

Career turning point

For Alexei, the battle with Jeff Monson became a moment of truth. Although it ended in defeat for Oleinik, the result was controversial. Many observers are convinced that it was in this battle that Oleinik first showed that he was able to fight with real ring professionals. This sparring was followed by the following, and they all ended in victories. Among those defeated by Oleinik was the famous Croatian fighter Mirko Filipovic. Here I want to say that Alexei fought with Mirko, having fractures of two ribs: the sixth and the eighth. He broke them in a battle that he had shortly before with Alistair Overeem. Experts insisted on the cancellation of the fight, because broken ribs are in the immediate vicinity of the heart. But Oleinik was so important victory over the famous fighter that he refused to cancel the fight and decided to fight.

And the biggest achievement in this winning chain is a rematch with Jeff Monson. This time, Alexey won using his famous suffocating trick. It is also worth noting another significant victory for Oleinik in a battle with a serious rival named Anthony Hamilton. All this suggests that the level of skills and physical fitness of Alexei are in excellent condition. The sports world will see the victory of such an athlete as Alexey Oleinik more than once. "UFS" is waiting for a new hero, because since the time of Taktarov there has not been a single worthy representative from the Russian Federation.

Career at UFS

In 2010, Alexei was invited to participate in the Grand Prix of the Bilyator Fighting Championship. Having won in the ¼ finals against Mike Hayes from the USA, he lost in the semifinals to a fighter from Africa named Neil Grove. It was a knockout, albeit a technical one, but in the first round.

As already mentioned, after Oleinik defeated the Croat, he signed a lucrative contract with MMA. After the fight with Anthony Hamilton, Alexey had another fight in November 2014 with a very strong opponent, Jared Rosholt. The fight was very difficult, but quick. In the first round in the fourth minute, Oleynik knocked out an opponent and won. I would like to note that at that time Oleynik was actually a citizen of Ukraine. But on the weigh-in procedure that took place before the fight, Alex went out in a T-shirt, on which was an image of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Shortly after the battle, in December, Oleinik received Russian citizenship, which he was very happy about.
