As you know, the best leave too soon. Unfortunately, this statement did not pass by the talented young musician Sergei Osechkin. What happened to him, where the star of the Russian "alternative" is buried, the birth of "Amatori" and how the group lives today, we will consider in the article.
Formation of an alternative as a genre and its features
An alternative, as a branch of rock music, appeared relatively recently, only about 30 years ago. But in such a short time, this musical genre has established its own characteristics. Here, unlike metal, there are no hidden line-to-line messages for the listener. The focus is primarily on music. The sound on the tear of a bass guitar. And of course, the second component is the stage image: makeup, costumes, manner of behavior and performance.
The main idea of the alternative as a genre is to protest against society and other musical styles.
Amatori
"Cinema", "Alice", "Aquarium" - all these groups were born here in Russia. But besides them, another appeared - "Amatori". The name translated from English means "love." The official date of birth of the group is April 1, 2001. It was then that the first rehearsal took place, in which Sergey Gang Osechkin took part.
Brief creative biography of Sergey
Sergey Viktorovich Osechkin was born on August 8, 1983 in St. Petersburg. He was one of the first to see the future for the Russian alternative and its prospects. It is difficult to overestimate his creative contribution in this direction.
Friends and relatives remember Sergei Osechkin as a creative person with outstanding thinking and talent. This allowed him not only to act as a composer and author of arrangements for songs, but also to be an inspirer within the collective, its leader.
In 2003, the group debuted with the album "Destiny Is Forever Hiding." It included those tracks that were already known. They were performed earlier at live concerts. His presentation took place on December 12 in St. Petersburg. A little more than a week later, the musicians introduced him to the capital.
In 2005, the second album was released, written with the active participation of Sergei Osechkin. It was called "Inevitability", and to some extent the name contained a prophetic meaning. It included 12 songs. It was in it that the track “Black and White Days” was received, which received the very treasured two prizes.
Sergey worked on the album "Book of the Dead." This is the last album in which he performed as a composer and guitarist. The album included 12 tracks. It was released in 2006.
Although only three albums were released during the life of the musician, they ensured the group popularity and love of fans. Songs written with the participation of Sergei, gave the group not only respect and recognition, but also provided it with access to the composition of star performers of Russian rock.
Death
Amatory guitarist Sergei Osechkin died on March 15, 2007 after a long and grueling struggle with the disease. He was only 23 years old. The cause of the death of Sergei Osechkin was cirrhosis. Note that, despite the negative fame of the rockers, the musician led a healthy lifestyle and, according to colleagues, practically did not drink alcohol.
The band’s fans did not immediately learn about the death of Sergey Osechkin. A message about this appeared only after 9 days. The relatives and relatives wanted this, and the Amatori musicians supported this decision. A farewell was organized for "friends."
The very news of the death of Ganga was a shock. Just because the band members carefully concealed this from fans. There were several reasons for this: firstly, the musicians were afraid that they would perceive the information as an advertising gimmick undertaken to increase their popularity. And the second reason is that the disease could be detected only when the point of no return was passed for Seryozha. Official medicine acknowledged that helping him was no longer possible. This proves how strong he was, because the musician did not show that he was dying in front of his fans. Only at the very last stage, he could not support the team on a trip to the tour.
His early departure did not allow to go out all the creative potential, both personal as a composer and as part of a group. The Russian alternative has lost its soul.
Single
After Seryozha’s death, the group recorded a single dedicated to him. The name forever immortalized the date of death of the musician "15.03". Text and music are all at the highest level in this work. This is not just a farewell to a person. Together with Sergey Osechkin, part of the group left, namely its unique sound.

The life of Amatori after the death of Sergey
Despite the grief, the musicians found the strength to live on and continue what Sergey put his heart into. Dmitry Rubanovsky was invited to the place of a deceased friend, with whom two albums were recorded. In 2005, they won the title of the group of the year. In the same year, the annual Russian prize in the field of rock music gave the song "Black and White Days" two prizes in the nominations "Song of the Year" and also "Clip of the Year". The composition of the group changed several times. Later, in 2009, the group again took the award in the category "Hit of the Year" for the creation of "Breathe with Me." This song is loved even by those who are not very interested in the band. Today, musicians have 6 full-length albums.
