Arbenin Konstantin - Russian musician, poet, prose writer and soloist of the rock band Serdolik. He worked as a screenwriter for the television program "Tales of Grandfather Mokey" and the editor of the documentary "Unknown Assumption". In 2009, his children's works were awarded the N. Gogol Medal.

Early life

Konstantin was born in 1968, on November 21, in Leningrad. At eight years old he became interested in literature, so instead of typical boyish toys, he asked his parents for new books. Over time, Arbenin put together a personal library. It is curious that most of the works of the school curriculum did not interest him. Konstantin likes to re-read Chekhov, Pushkin, Dumas, Conan Doyle, Stevenson and others.

After school, the guy unsuccessfully tried to become a student at a theater university. Then he got a job as a transport worker at Lenfilm and began to compose poetry. In the late 80s he served in the army in the Belarusian city of Borisov. Here he met with G. Vysotsky and I. Rothhauser. Together, the musicians created several compositions, including Freddy and Janitors. After the army, Konstantin Arbenin wrote the lyrics for “Fried Eggs in Italian” and “Hippie Girl”. He did not compose music, because he did not know how to play the guitar.

Group "Wintering of animals"

In 1995, Arbenin created this group, which also included jazz guitarist A. Peterson and A. Smirnov. Soon, the artists released a tape album. In 1996, "The Wintering of Animals" gave its first recital. In parallel, Konstantin was engaged in writing dramatic works. In 1999, Arbenin and Peterson held the “Mighty Handful” festival, which was attended by singing poets. With his friend Peter K., he created the plays The Glazier, The Pages of Existence, the novel Three Quarters and The Carefree Grinder. In addition, they wrote several screenplays that still remain unrealized.

At that time, Arbenin worked with other groups through the sale of author’s songs (compositions “Parashuram”, “Puff-puff”, “My clothes”, etc.). The lead singer of the Young Voices ensemble offered Konstantin cooperation. The artists did not work together, but at that time the popular composition “The Fate of the Resident” appeared.

Over the 14 years of the existence of The Wintering of Animals, Arbenin Konstantin managed to release thirteen albums. In addition, the group worked on musical performances. At the end of 2009, the artists announced the termination of their joint activities.

"Cornelian"

After the collapse of The Wintering of Animals, Arbenin assembled a new group, which included guitarists A. Spartakov, M. Ivanov, mandolinist A. Belyakov and V. Telegin, who plays the piano and double bass. For the first time, "Carnelian" performed on March 6 at the St. Petersburg art club "Books and Coffee." The concert program was called "Songs of the Same Name" and consisted of old compositions by Konstantin.

In 2010, Arbenin picked up a guitar and began to sing songs to his own accompaniment. At the same time, the artist presented a solo album "Songs of the Same Name", which consists of side projects, concert recordings and a studio bonus. In 2011, Konstantin Arbenin, whose photo is located above, together with his wife Alexandra staged the solo performance "Two Clowns". The premiere took place in the Petersburg art center PopcornStudio. Musical accompaniment was written by D. Maksimachev. In 2013, the solo performance received a diploma from the International Monocle Festival. To date, the Serdolik group has recorded two major albums.

Literary work

Since 1997, Konstantin publishes books written by him. “Transit bullet”, “Tales of backfilling”, “Children's roulette”, “Room shoots” and “Pushkin mine” became his first works. For some music albums and books, Konstantin Arbenin himself developed the design of covers and illustrations. Often his work appeared on the pages of such publications as “Technique for Youth”, “Nezavisimaya Gazeta”, “Banner” and “Murzilka”.

The artist defined the genre of his works as a modern fairy tale, because their plot combines the usual children's naivety and realistic elements. In 1998, Konstantin, in collaboration with his friends, staged the play "Swineherd". A few years later, as a musician, actor and playwright, he worked on the musical "Animals Are Looking for Summer."

In 2009, the story of Arbenin “Cockroach Trails” was published. Also, the artist is the author of the stories "Second" and "Two Clowns." In 2013, he introduced the book of poems, “The Second of January.”
